Do you know the Venezuelan pepito?
Pepito is a traditional Venezuelan dish that has become popular throughout the region, this rich meal consists of a sandwich stuffed with meat, accompanied by vegetables and sauces to your liking, the sandwich is made from peasant bread or long bread , finishing its preparation with cheese and if it is to your liking, gratin it for a better flavor.
The meat can be beef, chicken, pork or veal, and the vegetables can be tomatoes, onions, lettuce and any other vegetable you want, the pepito is served accompanied by a tomato sauce, mayonnaise and/or mustard, the dish is It is usually served hot, but can also be enjoyed cold.
This food has become one of the most popular foods in Venezuela and you can try it in many restaurants and markets and street stalls around the country, on your nights out you will always find a street food stall where you will get this delicious dish.

It is a pride to share with you the event that will take place today in my city Barquisimeto, this will be an event which will break a record and will be recorded in the Guinness book of records, 60 pepiteros will make a 200 m long nugget assuming responsibility each 2 m per person
I would really like to attend this event, I still don't know if I can go to see it in person, the truth is that I couldn't stand the temptation and I wanted to make some delicious Pepitos at home, here is my recipe and the procedure to make delicious Venezuelan Pepitos.

INGREDIENTS
I clarify that the ingredients can vary according to the taste of the person, I am going to place in quantities the ones that I used, but you can add or remove the ones you want and give it the personal touch, in my family we are five members so my recipe is going to make five Pepitos, here I leave my ingredients:
- 500g of beef steak
- 300 grams of chicken bologna
- 1/2 kilo of potatoes
- oil
- 1 carrot 🥕
- 200g lettuce 🥬
- 3 large tomatoes 🍅
- Mayonnaise
- mustard
- ketchup
- 3 eggs 🥚
- 100 grams of cheese 🧀
- In my family we are 5 so I used 2 and a half loaves cut in half to make 5 nuggets

STEP BY STEP
The main thing we are going to do is the meat, the preparation varies according to each person's taste, I put my meat to boil with all the seasonings so that it softened and then I cut it into small squares, at the moment when there was little water left, he I added the bologna cut into squares, I put a little oil to fry it, for the Pepitos you can add both beef or chicken or pork and if you take the three meats it is even tastier.
Separately we are going to chop the lettuce, I like the leaf lettuce but unfortunately I could not find it and I had to buy the type of cabbage, I chopped it into strips and washed it with water and vinegar, it is important that we wash the vegetables well to avoid health problems
Then scratch the carrot by the thinnest part of the ray, cut the tomatoes into squares, season with oil and salt, chop the potatoes into strips and then fry in abundant oil.
In a separate cup, beat the three eggs with a little salt to make small tortillas. The egg is optional. There are people who do not like this food with eggs.

It is important to have all the ingredients on hand, each one in its respective plate or container to later assemble our Pepitos and make it more comfortable.

PROCESS TO ASSEMBLE THE PEPITOS
We are going to place the breads on a counter or table, in my case I did it in my kitchen memo, each one on its respective plate, we are going to chop them vertically, when we open them we are going to start placing the tomato sauce and mayonnaise ,
then we will add the vegetables, the lettuce, tomato, grated carrot, the vegetable salad is also a matter of taste, there are places where they serve you the Pepitos alone with meat, at home we prefer that you bring a little vegetables to be more satisfied.

After the meat come the fries, we put a little more tomato sauce, mayonnaise and mustard
To finish the preparation, place the egg omelette strips and scratch the cheese on top, and they are ready to serve or if you like, at the end of the preparation you can gratin them, with respect to the cheese I used white cheese, which was what I had at by hand, but for a better flavor you can use Parmesan, Pecorino or year cheese.
