Hufft the weather is not friendly in my city, it rains continuously in my city from morning to evening this makes the weather very cold, those of you who live in European countries may already be used to air temperatures like this, but if in Asia, especially Indonesia, only has summer and rainy season, the air temperature during this rainy season can already make me curl up in a blanket and can't stand not getting up because I'm lazy. However, no matter how lazy we are in moving the stomach is a king that must be filled even though it is an inch but can affect human survival on earth..ha..ha😂

Today is a Saturday where my working time is much shorter compared to normal days so there is time for me to be creative and create food that I have never made at all, on this spare day I am free to experiment to show my talent in front of me. husband because I am not a reliable chef so I am only able to show off my cooking results in front of my husband. And tonight I will make Steak not from meat but from cassava.

The first time I made this cassava steak was because the food ingredients in my refrigerator were very depleted, while it was raining very hard and I didn't have a four-wheeled vehicle that made it easier for me to move out of the house when it rained. It was from this limited food material that my brain started working to be able to process the existing ingredients and incidentally there was still a little stock of cassava which we harvested a few days ago from the front of the house, then the ingredients left in the fridge made me find an idea to make this cassava steak.

Not many ingredients are needed to make 2 servings of this steak, I will immediately share the ingredients needed in the manufacturing process and there is no failure here. The anti-fail tip is don't leave the cassava steak while cooking because the steak can burn, then don't add too much salt when making the sauce, just a little bit first, you taste it after the taste is right according to your tongue and then you can lift it.

Ingredients needed to make steak :

1. 250 grams of grated cassava

2. Grated coconut

3. Slightly sliced scallion

4. A little pepper powder

5. tablespoon cornstarch

6. A little oil for grilling on teflon

Ingredients needed to make the sauce :

1. One clove of garlic
2. One red onion
3. Black pepper to taste

4. A little salt

5. tablespoon cornstarch

6. Sliced brown sugar

7. Half a glass of water
8. 1 tablespoon chili sauce.

How to make steaks:

1. Mix the scallions, grated coconut, ground pepper and cornstarch into a container that already contains grated cassava without squeezing the water.

2. Stir until smooth without adding salt

3. After that shape it into a large circle and flatten it until it becomes a perfect shape that looks a bit like a beef steak.

4. After that, bake it on Teflon which has been smeared with vegetable oil or it can also be butter. (can also be roasted)

5. Flip when the color is browned, then after everything is cooked, remove it.

How to make sauce :

1. Puree the onion, garlic, black pepper and salt

2. Put the water into the Teflon and mix the cornstarch into it, stir

3. After that, mix the spices that have been mashed, stir

4. Enter the palm sugar slices so that the color is more beautiful.

5. After that mix the chili sauce into it, stir until the sauce becomes thick, remove from heat.

How to serve:

1. Prepare the cassava steak which is still hot

2. Flush with the sauce that has been made

3. Then add the complementary ingredients, and I use pickled cucumbers and carrots that I have chopped finely and I add a squeeze of lemon to make it look fresh.

What do you think of my recipe, would you like to try it? Greetings from us Tomi and Maya from Binjai City, Indonesia
