Calle Real Cafe
Today let me share with you the second part of our visit to Calle Real Restaurant in Tanza Cavite Philippines. Last time we shared with you the delicious food that this restaurant has to offer. If you are still hungry for dessert, well come with me today as we visit the cafe on the second floor.
If you missed the delicious food from the first part feel free to check it. I'm sure you will enjoy it.
Calle Real
The second floor will also take you back to the Spanish pre-colonial era. They have kept the original design and furniture with very minimal modifications.
These old pre-colonial houses have very similar designs. The walls above the doors have wood-carved designs and I believe it is placed to allow ventilation and not just for aesthetic purposes. The parts of the house are very similar to my grandmother's old house. Double doors are also common in these types of houses.
Colored glass panels are installed above windows to allow natural light inside even if the windows are closed. The old charm of the house gives this cafe a very special personality. Taking you back to the past when life was simpler.
Just outside the door, you could also enjoy your coffee, pastry and a good conversation with your friends.
The rooms of the house were also converted to accommodate more customers. The windows are antique sliding windows on wooden rails with glass panels. If you also like a little bit of privacy this room is perfect.
Just across this room is another room that is also perfect for enjoying your coffee privately.
Antique glass cabinets showcase old dinnerware owned by the family. Some I guess could date back to the early 1900s.
They closed off almost half of the second floor to set up the counter. I recall on the open door on the left, behind the counter, used to be an area for additional seating for customers. This is the only change as I recall from our last visit to this cafe more than 5 years ago.
They offer fruit shakes that cost 65 pesos or $1.25 USD. If you are dining in the main restaurant on the first floor they could just include your order on your total bill.
There is a combo treat here for coffee and donut for the price of 75 pesos or $1.44 USD. Not a bad price since 75 pesos is just the price for coffee in popular coffee shops.
All cakes and pastries are freshly made here and you could even have a cake made to order for special occasions.
I tried their banana cake before and it was delicious. It was moist and you would know that it is fresh.
The pretzel sausage looks tempting and each serving has three pieces.
Their donuts here are also delicious and are not overly sweet except for those with candy sprinkles and toppings.
Each donut costs 25 pesos or $0.48 USD.
My daughter ordered one matcha muffin for the price of 35 pesos or $0.67 USD.
Time for my daughter to enjoy that muffin in this nostalgic cafe.
I was too full to eat more pastries because of the delicious dinner that we had on the first floor. It is best to drop by here for a snack to fully enjoy the food from the cafe. Although a cup of coffee would be nice after a good dinner.
My daughter loved the matcha muffin and ate it all by herself. She also ordered a mango apple shake earlier that was served during dinner. Too bad I was not able to take a photo to show you.
That ends our visit to Calle Real Cafe. Thank you for spending a little time with us and hope to see you again soon on our next food adventure.
Enjoy life, eat and always be happy.

Hi @noemilunastorta I also love vintage. It has stood the test of time and has a lot of stories to tell.
I love the vintage aesthetics😍
It feels very relaxing and calm in places like these. No fancy decorations just all vintage items. Cheers!
