So tasty! My favorite coffee bread, cinnamon rolls!

In Sweden, there is a culture of eating sweets with coffee and tea called "fika". At the fika, you can often find cinnamon rolls and other small pastries. The last time a friend of mine visited Stockholm, he ate some cinnamon rolls. And, when I visited Mexico to see him and his family, he said, "Hey, why don't we bake cinnamon rolls?" I guess that meeting me made him recall the taste of delicious Swedish cinnamon rolls. 😇✌️

スウェーデンでは「フィーカ」と言うコーヒーを飲みながらスイーツを食べる文化があります。フィーカではよくシナモンロールなどのちょっとした菓子パンも食べられます。友人が前回、ストックホルムに遊びに来た際、「そういえばシナモンロールたべたよなぁ～」と話になり作ってくれました。

キッチンで料理をしてると娘さんが、「ダディー、なにしてるのぉ～？」と遊びに来て、友人が料理をする姿を見ていました。子供って親の姿を見ながら育ちますよね。その隣には、かわいいブルーが寝ています。わたしもいつか、犬を施設から受け取って育ててあげたいなと思います。

まずは、生地をこねてテーブルの上で均等に広げていきます。（レシピは下を参照ください）

Then, you apply an amazing amount of butter! Well, he put so much butter on it! Oh, are we using that much butter? Oh I didn't know that we would use that much butter for cinamon rolls! Are we ready to get fat then? LOL! I'm going to get so fat, I thought. Well, I was ready though! LOL. I was thinking, "Oh my God, this sweet bread is a calorie bomb!

そして、びっくりするぐらいのバターを塗ります！めっちゃ塗ります！えーーこんなにバターつかうんや？やば、めっちゃ太るやん！と思っていました。笑。恐るべし、菓子パン、カロリー爆弾です。

Then, sugar and cinnamon are sprinkled over the spread dough. My friend used a blender to shred the cinnamon bark. Did you know that cinnamon is the bark of a fragrant tree? The good smell wafted into the kitchen and whetted my appetite.

そして、その拡げられた生地へ砂糖とシナモンをまぶしていきます。友人はシナモンをブレンダーで細かく削ってから使用していました。シナモンって、香木の樹皮って知っていました？キッチンにいい匂いがふわーっとして、食欲がそそられました。

I often came to the kitchen and lay down on the floor, as if the floor of the kitchen was cold and comfortable. It was about 28 degrees outside, and it was always summer in Mexico.

きっちの床は冷たくて気持ちいのかよくキッチンに来て床に寝そべっていました。外は２８度ぐらいで、常夏のメキシコです。

Cinnamon and sugar are sprinkled on the dough, and then the dough is rolled out from the edges into a tube shape. Literally, it is like making a long roll. I was impressed by the fact that this is how cinnamon rolls are made, even though I am an inexperienced cook.

シナモンと砂糖を生地にまぶし、その後はその生地を端から筒状に丸めていきます。文字通り、ロールを作るイメージです。こうやってシナモンロールを作るのかぁと料理経験の浅いわたしは感心しながら見ていました。

The rolled dough is then cut into even pieces. The evenly cut dough is then placed in a heat-resistant dish and prepared for baking in the oven.

そして、そのロール状に丸められた生地を均等にカットしていきます。均等にカットされた生地を耐熱性のお皿に入れて、オーブンで焼く準備をします。

Bake it and it is ready to serve!　I was impressed by my friend's quick and efficient cooking, and was impressed by his professionalism. Awesome, buddy. Well done!

それを焼いたらできあがり！　手際よくさっさと作っていく友人の姿をみて、さすがプロと感心していました。

Recept for Cinamon Rolls

Ingredients

300g self-raising flour
2 tbsp caster sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
70g butter, melted, plus extra for greasing
2 egg yolks
130ml milk, plus extra for glazing

For the filling

1 tsp ground cinnamon
55g light brown soft sugar
2 tbsp caster sugar
40g butter, melted

For the icing

60g icing sugar
1 tbsp cream cheese, softened
½ tbsp butter, softened
½ tsp vanilla essence

As someone who does not have children like me, the time I spent with my friend's daughters was a really good experience for me to "simulate" what it is like to be a parent. I felt a lot of respect for all parents who are raising children. Raising a child is really, really hard! I am grateful to my parents for raising me. Thank you very much, dad and mom. 🙏🙏🙏
