MEAL PLAN JUNE WEEK 3.jpg

Food plays a big role in Filipino culture.

We can feel it whenever we get invited to a special occasion, or even by creating a small gathering for our friends and family. We dedicate time and effort to satisfy our guests with the menu that would best describe our warm welcome, gratitude, and love.

This generosity can become a dilemma to an individual that is health conscious like me.

The interchange in contrary eating habits could result in saying NO to your Lola's Lechon Kawali, which will outcome to heedless behavior. That will possibly hurt the people who are close to your heart.

A meaningful reunion could suddenly become a horror story that is terrifying to watch. If you commit to still attend, explaining your food restriction will overpower the meaning of the gathering. It's a double-sided sword that will mark wounds to both ends.

The correct approach is now certain to me.

From March to the present, I tried different ways to refuse treats. But there was a day when I don't want to be rude so I accepted the cake, but I didn't eat and just let it sit over the fridge until it was spoiled. I was so guilty about that! In this time of crisis... we shouldn't waste food. So I thought a cold shoulder is better than produce another waste. That's how I deal it now, it's one of the reasons why I create a Weekly Meal Plan. No one has to worry about me even I eat like a bird, I don't skip meals because there were plenty healthy foods stored in the fridge that I just had to preheat any time of the day.

For my third week of June, the menu is Sauteed Mungbean Sprouts, Healthy Chinese Style Broccoli + Mushroom and Cucumber, Tomato, Avocado Salad. The Sauteed Mungbean Sprouts quickly became my fav. I decided to create it again this week, the recipe was already shared with my previous blog. Kindly check it below!

No cooking needed. As easy as that you can enjoy this yummy salad.

At first, fleeing to our old eating habits which we are accustomed to with our favorite people may hurt and stress us out. It will surely create a space, but it's a part of adulthood. It's okay to not please everybody even if we love them. It's okay to make decisions for our body. We need to be respected by these choices we create.

I hope you learned something today in this blog.

Love lots, Pat

oh wow! you really take the time to make these. Those look delicious as well. I am one who eats for its simplicity unless I truly want to have a luxurious meal day. Sometimes my grocery looks extremely questionable as it's filled with vegetables and also coffee, loads of coffee :D
