Inflation is real

I went to get groceries to prep my lunches and it came to a total of $28.15.

Sound mild but I only get the items in the photo!

A can of corn.
A can of diced beetroot.
A bag of off cut spinach.
An apple.
2 packs of marinated 500g chicken breast.

The most expensive item is chicken, coming at $9.50 for each.

Initially I thought it will only be enough to make 4 meals, but turn out could be 8. Phew!now I feel a lot better of the total price.

I was able to split into 4 meals for each marinated package of 500G chicken breast instead of 2,meaning around 125g each. I know this is a small portion, but when eat together with the salad, it fills me up nicely.
A light and refreshing lunch to avoid that mid day slump.

Salad is just spinach, canned diced beetroot, canned corn and cubed apple.
Used the liquid in the canned beetroot to make beetroot vinaigrette by combining with olive oil and fish sauce as salty element ( try this swap for you salt, it adds a different dimension to any dish).

Inflation is real. I’m grateful to have a steady income, no debt and healthy. I understand more the financial struggles many are facing as the value of money becoming smaller.
