Today the sky is so clear, but my enthusiasm, to always do activities has become a part of me, even though I am still belum menikah but it does not reduce my confidence to learn to cook because cooking is a part of me. Thanks to joining this platform, it is one of my courage to share every knowledge I can to share with all my friends, even though I still know very little about the world of cooking.
This time I will share a recipe for a simple home-cooked menu that is delicious enough to enjoy, namely Saute Papaya Flowers. You must be familiar with the papaya flower. This papaya flower grows very much in Indonesia, even now papaya has been very widely cultivated in Indonesia, because it has a fairly rapidly growing market. This papaya flower that I cultivate, I take directly in the garden behind my house, it grows thickly there.
What are the benefits of papaya flowers?
Papaya flowers have a lot of good content for our bodies, so they are very beneficial for the body, one of the benefits of this flower is that it can lower sugar levels for those of you with diabetes, besides that papaya flowers are also very good for helping pregnancy because they contain good nutrition. for bone health in the fetus. Papaya flowers also contain vitamins and other nutrients, making them a high source of fiber.
What is the shape of the flower?
Well, for the shape of this papaya flower, it is very beautiful like flowers in general, has a crown shape, which is pale green in color. This papaya flower grows around the top of the plant that grows in clusters on one or two stalks. Those of you who are curious, you can see directly drawn below.
Materials used
- 500 grams of papaya flowers
- 5 stalks of horse leaf buds
- 7 cloves of red onion
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 30 ml of cooking oil
- 6 green chilies
- 5 red chilies
- 2 tomatoes
- 200 grams of shrimp
- Water to taste
How to make sauteed papaya flowers
- Wash the papaya flowers
- Boil the papaya flowers with the leaves of the horses, until the papaya is soft. Why here I use the leaves of the horses, I do this to neutralize the bitter taste in the papaya flowers.
- Lift and drain, then wash the flowers that have been boiled earlier, and discard the horses leaves
- Prepare and cut onions, garlic, tomatoes, green chilies, and red chilies according to taste
- Saute all the ingredients that have been cut earlier into a frying pan that has been heated with cooking oil
- Add a little water, enter the shrimp and add a teaspoon of salt
- Finally Enter the papaya flowers that have been washed earlier, stir, and cook until cooked.
Papaya flowers are ready to be enjoyed, you can definitely try them at home, because this is a fairly easy recipe, for the taste of this menu is quite delicious with a savory taste and a quite distinctive papaya flower aroma coupled with the addition of shrimp, so you don't need to add chicken stock, because the savory taste is very strong in this dish.
Friends, this is my recipe, I hope you are inspired to add to the menu with your family at home, you can serve it with white rice too, of course. if there is a wrong writing, or whatever it is, please leave your positive comments in the comments column, yes, because I'am still very newbies on this platform.

...it can lower sugar levels for those of you with diabetes...
That looks delicious, and healthy for diabetics! I love papaya. My grandfather had an amazing garden here in 🇳🇿 Aotearoa / New Zealand, and he would grow all kinds of things that don't usually grow in our climate. I don't recall if papaya was one of them, but he did grow bananas and pawpaw, both of which don't usually do well here. I will definitely be looking out for more papaya in the supermarkets here though, now that I know it is so good for diabetics. I don't think we would be able to get the papaya flowers here though, as it isn't a commonly grown plant here. However, our local Asian food market may well have some, as an imported tinned or bottled product. They have all sorts of nice exotic foods like that. I will have to have a look next time I go there.
I see that you leave the legs and tails on your shrimps. I always take them off first, as I find them to be rather like eating plastic! Maybe the shrimps here are different to the ones that you get in 🇮🇩 Indonesia.

Wow, I am amazed by your grandfather's persistence, even though in a different climate he is willing to try. I think you should try this papaya flower, healthy for consumption it tastes a little bitter but is very tasty. The shrimp that I use are small shrimp and the tail is soft too.
Thank you for supporting me, and visit my blog,
Ahh yes, that makes sense then. Speaking of my grandfather, he was a real "green thumb" amateur horticulturist. We also had several trees in our garden that he had grafted, which grew several different varieties of the same fruit on them, such as red and green apples on the same tree. He also did this with grape vines, too, making different types of grape grow together on the same vine. Unfortunately, I didn't inherit his "green thumb", haha.
Wow he is really amazing, I am very happy with a plant lover like him.
I think I need to learn a lot about cultivating plants with him.
Convey my introductory greetings to him
Unfortunately, my grandfather died many years ago, when I was young. Now I am old, like he was back then.
Is that true, he must be someone special to you
Look what I just bought. I had to go out anyway today, for my regular diabetes blood test, which is something that I really do not enjoy. My wife always gets me a nice treat afterwards, and this time I decided on a papaya! So we went to our local Asian food market and bought this one. While I was there, I asked them about the papaya flowers, and they said that unfortunately they do not stock them, not even as tinned or bottled products. That's a pity.
Wow you are amazing, I am very impressed with you and your wife, you guys are really sure to do it. My father also has high blood sugar, he often eats papaya.
Hopefully your blood sugar is stable and always given health.
Thank you for your kind words. My blood sugar levels are definitely not "stable" right now. I have been very naughty lately. But since we started this new HDPS Community, I am starting to do the right thing again. My wife always insists that I take my pills and insulin, but apart from that, I had not been taking care of the diabetes very well until recently.
