In these days of rest, I went to my town to meet with my family, to share with them the days of the week. I had been away for so long due to the pandemic that I deserved a reunion after the sadness of having lost family members to this terrible virus.
En estos días de descanso, me fui a mi pueblo a reunirme con mi familia, para compartir con ellos los días de la semana Mayor. Tanto tiempo de estar alejado motivado a la pandemia, merecía un encuentro después de la tristeza de haber perdido familiares por este terrible virus.

As everything requires expenses, we decided to make a collection, but first we drew up a budget of the expenses, where we would all contribute equally, to buy the ingredients and in this way we would all be sharing a pleasant family moment.
Como todo amerita gastos, decidimos hacer una colecta, pero antes sacamos el presupuesto de los gastos, en donde todos aportaríamos por igual, para comprar los ingredientes y de esta forma estar todos compartiendo un grato momento en familia.
Sacar presupuesto, de varias opciones de comida y nos salía mejor hacer un sancocho en leña.
The cook of the day was Tio Jorge. He once made a soup and it was very delicious, from there he was assigned by unanimous vote, the one in charge of making the sancocho. Of course with everyone's help.
El cocinero del día fue el Tío Jorge. El una vez realizo una sopa y le quedo muy deliciosa, desde allí fue asignado por votación unánime, el encargado de hacer el sancocho. Por supuesto con la ayuda de todos.
El Tio set up his fire in a very fast way, lit the fire with kerosene and put oil on the wood so that it would catch fire faster.
El Tío, armo su fogón de una manera muy rápida, prendió el fuego, con kerosén y coloco aceite a la leña para que más rápido agarrara fuego.
A grate was placed for the pot to rest on.

On the other hand, everyone collaborated, some peeled vegetables, such as. Ocumo, plantain, yucca.

Other family members peeled the seasonings (onion, garlic, chili peppers).

In a large pot, place enough water, 3 kilo of lagarto (meat for soup) corn, bunch of parsley, cilantro, chives, cilantro and salt.

We thanked life for these shared moments in 2022, two years after the pandemic, we were finally able to be together and greet each other with a hug.
