White soup, also known as Nsala soup, is a traditional delicacy popular in Nigeria, especially among the Igbo people. Nsala soup is not only delicious but also offers several health benefits.
Catfish Nsala Soup
Served with semolina & with a cold drink
I wash the catfish with hot water, you can as well wash with lime
INGREDIENTS
Catfish 🐋
Pepper 🌶️
Ogili (grinded Fermented castor )
Crayfish🦐
Utazi (Gongronema latifolium)
Salt 🧂
Maggi cube
Uziza seed (black pepper)
Yam (grinded yam for thicken)
Water
Nsala spic
PREPARATION
Cut yam according to the quantity enough to thicken the soup, peel it cook till soft then grind.
In a pot add water, grinded pepper, salt, Maggi, crayfish, Nsala spic, black pepper.
Bring to a boil and add the catfish cook for 3 minutes check the test and adjust for salt if needed, remove the fish from the pot so it won't get too soft and over cook, add the grind yam and ogili cook till thickened put back the catfish in to pot now cover & cook for few minutes open and add utazi leaf, turn it and Nsala soup is ready....
