in Foodies Bee Hivelast year

Dear friends on Hive.

How are you all I hope you are well. Today I will be writing about traditional food and I will write with you about the traditional pitha(cake) of Bangladesh. The name of the pitha is Mara Pitha. Mara Pitha is a popular winter pitha. This pitha is more popular in the greater Mymensingh region in Bangladesh. let's start-

Required components

  • Rice flour
  • salt
  • water

Cooking method

Step 1

First, take rice powder in quantity. Then the rice powder should be fried on low flame. This pitha cannot be made without roasting the rice powder. I took a big fry pan and fried the rice powder.

Step-01

Step 2

Then add salt to the fried rice powder. Add salt according to your taste. I like food with less salt so I added half a teaspoon of salt. After adding salt, the rice powder should be well mixed with water. The soft and sticky dough should be made by hand. Below I am attaching pictures of each step. This is how to make dough with rice flour.

Step 3

Then make pithas of different shapes from the dough. The shape of the pita that I have made should be taken with the help of two palms. First, take a small amount of dough and give it a round shape, then with the help of the palm, make this shape by narrowing it on both sides. This shape of marra pitha is the most popular. In this way, I make several cakes.

Step 4

In this step, I make a sweet pot for making pita. When I was a child, whenever pitha was made, this sweet pot was made. If there are children in the house, this sweet pot is very loved. I don't have a little dough at first. Then shape the dough like a pot. Then take some more dough and roll it into small balls like sweets. Then take some more dough and make a lid and attach it.

Step-5

A special kind of utensil is required for making Mara Pitha. The bottom of the paper is perforated. Usually, these pots are made of clay, but nowadays many people make such pots by cutting holes in steel plates. Another vessel should be set with water under this vessel. The steam in this lower pot cooks the upper pitas. In this way, the pithas should be kept one by one in the upper perforated container and sealed. As if the air inside comes out

May not be I sealed the junction of the pots with rice flour dough. In this way, the pitha is cooked quickly.

Last step- Presentation

After about 30-40 minutes in the oven, the pithas should be removed. By this time, the pitahs will be cooked. Then keep the pithas in another bowl. So that one does not stick to the other. Then eat a hot pitha. This pitha(cake) is delicious both hot and cold. I also shared with you the picture of my sweet pot that will be eaten as a pitha.
