Pınar's Lentil Meatballs Recipe 🥗👩‍🍳💕

Hello everyone

Do you like appetizers made with lentils? I love it. I didn't even know that I love lentils so much.
When I started the Karatay diet 2 years ago, carbohydrates and grains were completely prohibited. Many legumes were limited. The only legumes I could eat freely and unlimitedly were lentils.
My love for lentils started during this period.
I've reworked many recipes with lentils. At the beginning of these recipes, we can say that meatballs with lentils come.

It's actually the same as the classic lentil meatball recipe. I took out bulgur, which can only be eaten in limited quantities in Karatay diet.
Instead of a limited amount of food with bulgur in it, I prefer this type of dish. Moreover, if you are not a very good gourmet, you will not even realize that there is no bulgur in it.

Now, let me share with you my own discovery, my meatball recipe made with only lentils.
A complete protein store. You can add it to the nutrition list with peace of mind.

The ingredient list is pretty short.

  • Red Lentils (about 2 cups)
  • Onion (fresh and dried)
  • Tomato paste (pepper and tomato paste mixed.)
  • Olive oil
  • Black pepper, salt
  • A few garlic cloves
  • Parsley

I washed the lentils and put them on the stove to be boiled with 2 glasses of water.
I put as little water as possible. Because I will not add bulgur to the lentils boiled in this meatball. For this reason, lentils should not remain watery. It should absorb as much water as possible while boiling.

After boiling the lentils, I let them rest in the refrigerator for at least 6 7 hours. In this way, the boiled lentils became solid and could take the shape of meatballs.

Then I cut the onion into small pieces and roasted it with some olive oil. When the onions were cooked enough, I added tomato paste and black pepper. For better understanding, I will share the photo of all the stages with you.

I poured the sauce I prepared on the lentils. I waited for a while for the heat to go away. Then I added salt and mixed the meatballs.

Then I added chopped parsley and spring onions to the meatballs.

I mixed the meatballs well. I made it into meatballs.

I prepared it to serve with lettuce and lemon.

I think the star of our fast-breaking dinner tonight was meatballs with lentils. We ate happily.
