Today I will be showing you guys how to make water yam fritters at home. This particular yam happens to be my mom’s favorite food, and she can’t go a week without eating it, except if it is not the yam season. To say the truth, the water yam fritters are very good, healthy for the body, and also easy to make, and that is why I bought the yam yesterday when I went to the market. So let’s get into the kitchen and see how I made the magic.
Ingredients are:
500g of water yam
500ml of groundnut oil
30g of crayfish
10g of dried blended pepper
2 pieces of onion
half a teaspoon of salt
1 piece of seasoning cube

Procedure
As you can see, the ingredients are few, and trust me when I say the outcome was magical, delicious, crunchy, and tasty as well. Let’s get into the process.
I peel the yam back and then cut it into smaller pieces, then rinse it thoroughly because of sand.

I made use of a grater to grate the yam because if I don’t grate it, I can’t use it for what I wanted. Meanwhile, some people prefer boiling it just like the normal yam, but trust me when I say this is the best way to have this water yam.

After grating it, I set it aside, then I sliced the onions and, of course, rinsed the dry crayfish to avoid any form of sand in my food.

I poured the blended pepper and the sliced onions into the grated water yam, followed by the crayfish, and then I made use of my hand to mix everything together until the ingredients were mixed with the water yam.

The next thing I did was add the half teaspoon of salt and the seasoning cube to taste, and then I mixed it again before setting it aside.

I placed a fry pot on the burner, then poured the groundnut oil inside and allowed it to get hot a little bit.

After that, I made use of my hand to take a small quantity of the water yam mixture and then put it inside the hot oil; that was repeated until there was not space in the pot again.

I made use of a spoon to turn it immediately because it doesn’t stay too long to get fried, and after 3 minutes it was already turning brown, so I packed them out.

Lastly, I served them, and it can be eaten with pap, bread, and of course, chilled drinks. It depends on how you want yours.
