Hello Everyone,
I am a Fries lover, whenever I visits a fast food store, I will buy fries with my portion. When I started trying new recipes one by one, I wanted to try and make Fries at home. So I have tried many different methods several times and they have failed me several times too. I got soggy potato fries instead of crispy Fries we all like.
Even if I have failed many times, I didn’t give-up on my idea of trying it at home. So I have referred many videos and tutorials where they use different methods and become successful. Then I combined the things I saw in those tutorials and became successful this time.
So…. I will share how I got successful this time.
Ingredients:
Large potato(s)
Cold water
Salt
Oil
Corn flour
This is how I prepared it:
First peel the potato(s) and cut into the strips. Thickness should be same for all. Otherwise it will make it hard to fry at the same time in the oil pan.
Then we have to wash the potatoes well with cold water. I have washed it several times so we can remove excess starch in it.
After removing the excess starch, I have boiled it in a hot water about 3-5min not letting it cook completely. It should be half cooked not fully cooked.
Then I had to keep the potato strips to cool completely. Then the absorbed water while boiling will be removed from it.
Next step is to spread some corn starch on the potatoes. And frying is the final thing for us to do before tasting.
Frying has also two steps for us to get it crispy. First we need to fry in the low heat for 2-3min and then fry them in well heated oil until it is golden brown.
