Hi everyone, welcome back, and thanks for dropping by to my humble blog. Like always, I want to share with you the food that I ate last night. But before we discussing the food, let me tell you why I ate this food.

As you know from my last food post, that I still at Manokwari City doing my job, and on April 25 I am supposed to go back to Pekanbaru. But for some reason, there’s no ticket left on that date, and I have to wait till the next day to continue my journey back to my city.

Sadly, I have to leave the hotel that I stayed at before because the Organizer just books the hotel until April 25. I pack my things and move to another hotel in Manokwari city called “Rama Hotel”, it’s a small hotel compared to the Swiss Bell Hotel, the rate at 500K IDR or about 40USD without looking another hotel I decided to stay there for a night.

On that day, I forgot to take a pre-dawn meal, because I overslept so I’m fasting without eating anything before, just the food on the “IFTAR” last night.
Haven’t eaten anything for about 24 hours is making my body feel tired, so I spent my time lying on the bed, or just sitting watching the Indodax for trading HIVE COIN till the dusk come.

It’s the second time that I went to Manokwari, I don’t know most of the place. I pack my sling bag and ask the receptionist at the hotel where I can get food, and he answers that I just have to walk about 50 meters from the hotel.

Following the direction that the hotel receptionist gave me, I arrive at the local food stall named “SOTO BAGONG”, I can’t translate it to English so you can call it “BAGONG SOTO”.

SOTO VARIATION

There are just two types of Soto that they sell, Chicken Soto and beef Soto. Because I ate chicken a lot so I go for the beef one.

After ordering the Soto, I went to pick a table to seat and after waiting for about 5 minutes, they deliver the Soto to my table.

The Soto comes with a plate of rice, it’s a bit much so I decided to tell the waiter to give me less rice, about half from what they give me earlier. I hate to waste food especially rice.

Every time I ate the food with soup, I mostly go for the soup first, I think it’s a habit, and that’s the proper way to taste the food. The soup is so good, you don’t need to add extra soy sauce or ketchup to the soup, you can say it almost perfect. But if you prefer adding some extra soy sauce or ketchup just do it, as long as you don’t ruin the soup taste.

THE CHILI

Because I love spicy things, I add about 2 spoons of blended chili and that’s the amount that my stomach can handle. For your information, the local chili here is so spicy so I won’t force myself to add some more, even If I want it so badly.

The soup almost fills all the bowls but you don’t need to worry because they don’t stingy to gave you many slices of beef meat and I think the beef slice amount compare to the soup is a bit more.

CHIPS

If you’re an Indonesian, you must know this kind of chips”. And there are the best chips that you need when you ate Soto every time or meatball. Because everytime you put the chips on the soup it’s not easily softened, you can still chew it as long as you don’t put it for a long time.

DRINKS

For the drink, you can order coffee, tea, and melon water, hot or cool you choose. Because I haven’t eaten anything before, I just order a glass of hot tea. Because I ordered it while it’s hot, I still can enjoy it after I finish the food, and finish the tea while it’s warm.

THE PRICE

A bowl of Soto, a plate of rice, and a glass of tea just cost me IDR 27K, it’s less than $2. It’s a fair price for the food, but I think the food deserves more than that. They don’t provide the bill so I can’t show you the price but believe me it less than $2.

After paying for the food, I went to find some snacks and drink before went back to my hotel to have some rest and continuing trading HIVE COIN.
