Cardaba banana is a type of banana famous in the Philippines for its unique texture and appealing taste. Aside from its culinary uses in various Filipino dishes both savory and sweet, it is also known for its nutritional value.
Cardaba banana are a good source of Vitamin C and Vitamin A and is also high in potassium. It also improves digestion, supports heart health, energy boosting and rich in antioxidant properties.
Instantly, I thought of making a crispy and delicious banana chips with only three ingredients aside from the main component.
My homemade banana chips recipe in frying method.
Ingredients:
10 pcs. Raw bananas
1 cup water
½ cup vinegar
1 cup sugar (according to your taste )
Oil for frying
Procedures:
Wash and peel the banana.
Cut the peeled banana into thin slices.
In a small bowl, mix 1 cup of water, ½ cup vinegar and sugar. Stir the mixture until the sugar is dissolved.
Heat enough oil to submerge the banana slices in a frying pan.
Carefully add banana slices at a time to the hot oil. Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure even cooking.
Pour 7-8 tablespoon of the water-vinegar-sugar mixture to the banana slices until golden brown and crispy.
Transfer the fried banana chips to a colander or plate lined with paper towel to drain excess oil.
Let it cool completely before serving and storing.
My children and I really enjoyed the pleasant and luscious taste of this recipe. Including Cardaba bananas into our diet would give us a lot of health benefits. Whether fresh, cooked, or mixed with various dishes, it is nourishing and full of nutrients. Banana chips doesn’t only give us health benefits but it can also be a good business which would add up to our daily income.
A must try recipe and you will surely love it!
Thank you for reading!
Until to my next craving!
