Talking about traditional cakes, I always want to try them again and again, as if I am never satisfied, I am always curious about what ingredients these traditional cakes are made of, but after I studied it further and tried to make it, it turned out to be very easy and the ingredients used are very simple, no need to bother getting the ingredients, the ingredients are already available around us.
On this occasion I really want to try making this kembang tiang cake, in my area this cake is called nyap cake, I don't know what it means, haha funny name huh, like the boh usen cake that I made yesterday, of course there is a history of why it is called boh usen cake, because in Aceh there used to be many husen trees whose leaves were shaped like small crescent moons so the cake was called boh husen cake, while this nyap cake I also don't know the history of it so that it was called this nyap cake. I really have never heard of its history.
Okay, no need for further small talk, let's get straight to the point. Namely how to make Nyap cake, here are the methods and ingredients that I use to make Nyap cake
Materials used
1 coconut milk
200 grams of granulated sugar
1 tbsp salt
1/2 vanilla powder
2 tbsp sesame
1 egg
Manufacturing procedure
Mix all the ingredients, rice flour, coconut milk, granulated sugar, salt, vanilla, eggs and sesame seeds in one container.
First, heat the cake mold in hot oil until the mold is hot, then put the mold into the dough until the dough sticks to the mold, then fry until half cooked, then remove the mold, fry until the cake is cooked, don't forget to turn it over so that it cooks evenly.
RESULTS
The result is really very beautiful, right? The shape of this cake, especially the taste, is very crispy, the sweetness and savory taste are very pronounced. When I was little, this cake was really plain, but this time I made this cake by sprinkling sesame seeds on top to make it taste even better.
The aroma of this cake is very distinctive, and very fragrant, my mother used to make this cake very often, since I grew up my mother has never made this cake again, because maybe she thought that today's children no longer like to eat old-fashioned cakes, because now the cake models are different from the taste and the way of making them is very modern, even the appearance of the cakes is also very beautiful when we go to the cake shop.
But for me, cakes or snacks in the past must also be preserved at this time, where young Indonesians are no longer unfamiliar with the food of their ancestors, especially the Acehnese, who have so many and abundant other typical Acehnese foods.
