Plantain is one of the plant that gives ion to the body. It can not be eaten raw unless it is ripe. In Nigeria where am from, Plantain can be cooked in several ways like fried, boiled, stemmed and many more.
Today I want hive lovers to follow me as we go through the process. First I will list out the items am going to use in cooking my plantain pottage. They include
- Plantain: it may be ripped or unripe
- Dried Fish
- Spices: Fresh pepper, maggi cube, grandes Crayfish, salt.
- Palm Oil
- Vegetables: you can use any vegetable of your choice, but for today we'll use pumpkin leave.
Time to Cook our Plantain Portage
The cooking items mentioned above should be processed. For instance, pound you pepper, cut your vegetable into smaller conpactments. Pound your crayfish.
- Place you cooking pot on fire
- Chop your plantain into smaller parts. After cutting put the plantain into the pot, add water and cook for about 20 minutes, then add your fish, crayfish and pepper, allow it to boil for 10 minutes. Allow it to boil for about 5 minutes. Add maggi allow it to cook for a while. After 5 minutes add your palm oil, after 2 minutes your add your vegetable. We have our plantain pottage.
You can serve your cooked plantain pottage with either cold water or a bottle of beer.
