Today I will share a simple snack recipe but it tastes delicious and is easy to make. This snack is very familiar in my area, and is widely sold. His name is bakwan. But the bakwan that I make is a little different from most of the bakwan that people make.
Usually people make bakwan with lots of vegetables and corn, this time I made bakwan with mushrooms, kale stems and cabbage.
The mushroom I use is also rarely sold, maybe people don't know that this mushroom is delicious? This mushroom is called a gerigit mushroom, it grows on dry wood trunks, during the rainy season it usually grows a lot. When cooked, this mushroom gives off a woody aroma and tastes delicious. Oh yes, I found this mushroom next to my house. There is a mango tree trunk that is dead and dry, because it is the rainy season and it turns out that a fungus is growing on the mango tree trunk. I happily harvested the gerigit mushrooms and made them into bakwan.
OK, now let's start making the mushroom bakwan.
Prepare the ingredients first.
- 200 gr wheat flour
- 150 gr gerigit mushrooms
- 100 gr cabbage
- 50 gr kale stems (without leaves)
- 1 stalk of celery leaves
- 1 egg
Spice:
- 5 pieces of red chili
- 3 red onions
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 50 grams of fast shrimp
How to make:
Clean the gerigit mushrooms and all the vegetables, then cut them into small pieces. Put it into the container.
Grind all the spices, then put them in a container containing the mushrooms and vegetables that have been cut into pieces.
Add the eggs, then stir the vegetables and spices, then add the flour little by little, add a little water and salt to taste.
Stir the bakwan mixture until it is evenly mixed, and the texture is not too hard or soft.
After the mixture is finished, heat the oil in a frying pan, preferably a lot of oil so that the fried results are prettier. Once the oil is hot, add the mixture using a spoon.
And here is the gerigit mushroom bakwan ready to be served. I served the mushroom bakwan with packaged sauce. I added a little hot water to the sauce so it wasn't too thick, and it tasted better too.
The taste is savory, delicious and the aroma of wood in this gerigit mushroom gives a different sensation to this bakwan. My doughter also really likes this mushroom bakwan. Especially when combined with the tomato sauce, wow the taste is really delicious, savory and different.
