Delicious French Croissants in Istanbul 🥐

in Foodies Bee Hive2 years ago (edited)

Hi everyone!

Today I want to talk about the amazing croissant place we have lately discovered in Istanbul with my mom. Actually, it's an incredibly popular place that I'd been hearing about a lot for a couple of years, but I never had the chance to visit until my mom came to Istanbul to visit me last week.

Initially, we didn't plan to go there. We had just finished touring a museum around 4 pm and still had some energy left for another activity. Since we were hungry, we decided to give this place a try.

However, before arriving at the place, I had some concerns as I knew it was nearly impossible to find an empty seat there. Every review I read said that you should wait in line for at least 2 hours to find an empty table to seat. Since there was another nice cafe right next to this place, we decided that if we couldn't find a place when we arrived and we had to wait in a long line, we would sit there instead.

Luckily, we arrived very close to the closing time of the place, so there was no line and a lot of empty tables. To come and sit there without waiting in the line is quite rare and unexpected, so we were incredibly lucky!

But, it all comes with a cost! Since we sit there very close to the closing time, they didn't have any eggs left, so we had to choose something without eggs. I had heard that their croissants with eggs were delicious, but it was okay. There were dozens of other options with different ingredients in the menu.

My mom ordered "French Brekkie", which featured a plain croissant with sweet and salty complements. It also included orange slices and a delicious piece of butter. I believe it was very similar to how they serve croissants in France.

I didn't want to order a plain croissant, so I went for "Mom Sausage", which included cheddar, sausages, mozzarella, tomato sauce and greens. It was served with 3 different sauces, cucumbers and peppers. I also had fresh filter coffee.

To simply put, it was the best croissant I have tasted in my life and I don't think any croissant will ever be able to come close to it. Of course, I haven't been to France and I haven't tried croissants there, but until that happens, these croissants will be on the top of my list. I have also tried my mom's plain croissant and it was just as good.

The croissants were crunchy, soft and warm. I also like that they combined each croissant with different types of sauces instead of combining each one the same way. Both croissants were around $5, and the coffee was approximately $2. I expected this place to be way more expensive considering the quality of the crossiants and the amazing ambiance. It was worth every penny and I hope to come back here in future to try a different crossiant as they have dozens of them!

Here are some more photos of the place. It was nicely decorated and had a very pleasing ambiance.
