Hi @beeber I think it's a kind of puff pasty and originated from Bulgaria and it's quite the same as "Blätterteig", a German puff pastry. 😀 And I totally agree with you that this dish look amazing. 😄 Definitely to try it for sure. @veselusha79 Thanks for sharing. 💜

Yes I think so. The Austrian "Strudel" is made out of this puff pastry. And this has its origins in the baltic-hungry-kroatien region, so it might be this kind of dough :-) but I never saw it INSIDE a meal, only around something :-)
Hello, banitsa crusts are finely rolled dough, if what you are talking about is puff pastry for croissants, I don't think it will happen.
