Nil Fish or Nile Tilapia Fish has popular choice in Thai kitchens for long decade. This fish came from Japan as a gift from Emperor Akihito to our late King Bhumiphol.

King Bhumiphol name this fish as Nil(Nin) meaning black fish as their color and named after the Nile as they originated from Nile river and a part of the name of King Akihito in Kanji Alphabet then Late Thai King was breed and invented the Nil Fish to Thai people and became a cheapest fresh water fresh protein so we always said this fish is a gift from King. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • 2 Nil Fish (Nile Tilapia Fish)
  • 1 Cup Jasmine Rice
  • 50 Gram Chili
  • 5 Clove Garlic
  • 2 Tablespoon Garlic
  • Half Shallot
  • 3 Calamansi
  • 1 Cucumber
  • 1 Coliander
  • 3 Spring Onions
  • 1 Tablesppon Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Tapioca Flour
  • 1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil

Instructions!

Clean a Fish before Cooking First

ย 

  • Rinse the fish by running water
  • Rub all the skin with tapioca flour to get rid of the mucilage from fish skin then rinse again.
  • Rub the skin with salt to get rid of the fishy then rinse again.
  • Cut through the fish by sharp knife.

  • Pour the oil into the fry pan over high heat and drop the fish into the pan and let's fry them for both sides until cooked and skin turning golden brown and rest them on the rack.

Come to the U.S. and open a restaurant! It looks so good, I can't wait to taste it (but I guess I will have to ๐Ÿ˜„).

At 60 cents a fish, I would eat Nil fish very often. I think if I visit Thailand, I will beg for every recipe of dishes I like. You are making me long for Thai food!
