How I love My Native rice

Todays cooking is native rice.

Introduction

As a Nigerian, Akwabomite precisely there are different types of rice and also different ways to prepare it.
Native rice is known to be traditional food, easy to prepared. This meal (food) can be seen prepared in a traditional occasion like traditional marriage for our in-laws.

I learnt how to this food (native rice) from my elder sister and she’s so good in preparing it. When its comes to making a tasty and yummy native rice i give it to her.
Through the learning process its wasn’t easy as i failed in many attempts, some days the rice could be too spicy or too salty at times tasteless. Now i can proudly make (cook) yummy native rice with zero error (complain).

Like i said there are many ways to prepared native rice, people enjoyed it without adding vegetables leaf and some loves adding vegetable leaf to it. I enjoy my native rice with vegetables leaves added to it, cause its good for the body /system.

Now let me show you how I prepared my native rice.

First lets start with the ingredients
  • 4 (four) cups of rice
  • Pieces of meats
  • A spoon of salt (depends on how many cups of rice you wants to prepare)
  • 5 (five) cubes of seasoning ( this can be subject to change, depending on the cups of rice)
  • Palm oil
  • 5 (five) peppers
  • A cup of crayfishes
  • 2 (two) small side onions (if you’re a lover of onions you might decide to put money)
  • Vegetable leaves

Steps

First washed and boiled the pieces of meats, adding half spoon of salt, one cube of seasoning, one small size of onions and half cup of water.

Then washed my 4 cups of rice 5 times to remove the sand and make it clean for consumption.

After doing that i put it in the pot and start cooking. Adding my prepared meats, 5 (five) cups of water, salts, paper, palm oil, crayfish, onions and 5 (five) cubes of seasoning. Then allow it to boil for minutes.

While waiting for the rice to boiled, i washed my vegetables leaves twice. Then cut it into small pieces.

After 15 minutes i add my cut (ready) vegetable leaves to the rice and have a taste of it to know if there’s anything to add. The meal tasted so yummy already and I didn’t have to add anything to it again.

Now my native rice is ready
So yummy 😋

Wait! Did i mention that you can also use fruits to eat with your native rice?
Not all the fruits thou but fruits like; bananas, paw-paw and avocado pears can be used.

I enjoy my native rice with bananas.
