Finally, the baking was complete and I got all the cookies frosted that were left to do. It was time to assemble the giveaway trays. Getting 16 trays together and wrapped for delivery took about two hours. That is always my husband's job. He likes to chit-chat with the neighbors when he drops off their tray. That gave me a chance to get all the containers washed and put away.
This is the island filled with all the cookies I had made all week long.

It is her morning nap time and she always naps wherever I am.
Here are the cookies I made this year. I often make many of the same as my neighbors have shared which ones are the favorites. The Soft Gingerbread was a first. I used to make Gingersnaps in previous years but chose a soft cookie version this time around.

I haven't made Cherry Winks in a few years, so it will be interesting to see if they were a hit. Personally, I love them.
For some extra sweetness, everyone has a sweet tooth, I made a few Chocolate Hershey Kisses and Toffee Almond Bark.

The cookie trays have all been delivered and all the recipients were delighted with this year's selections.

That's funny he delivers them because he likes to chat. My husband was the same. What a lovely collection! They look so impressive laid out in their storage containers!
The neighbors love my husband's visits and I'm on the quieter side. lol. I make the cookies he gets to do the rest. That was a lot of baking this year as I went from 9 trays to 15 since the word got out that I make them. lol We are supposed to get 4-6" of snow this afternoon, it will be a white Christmas after all.
It’s spitting here at 12:30PM, but it’s not supposed to amount to much.

The electricity and gas situation improved a little. I just had a few difficult days with my mother. We had to rush her to the cardiologist and she has to undergo a lot of tests to see how she is.
Oh no, I hope she does okay and they help her to control her blood pressure. love and hugs to her.

No matter where in the world one lives, those homemade cookies or gifts always arrive with the love they deserve. Oh the cooking and preparation is time consuming, smiles and well wishes go much further, simply by a personal touch.
