Wishing you all a great start to this new week as we are rounding up the weekend in good health and wellness πͺ.
And I feel we are all cool with the current weather which will soon take us into Spring πΏππΊπΈ. And spring is one of my best season of the year after the Christmas π because it brings lots of colors through nature in our environment leaving us with beautiful weather, although the rain βοΈ can be disturbing.
And anticipating spring friends, this weekend I have prepared a lovely spring colors and flavors in this exquisite salad π₯ to share with all of you. Cabbage π₯¬ salad with cucumber π₯ and carrots π₯will bring spring flavors to your table. And raw salads most remain crispy for a note of freshness. Therefore, the sour dressing using creamy Whippy Mayonnaise was the last thing I did to prevent the salad loosing its fragility before serving.
The salad π₯ is easy and tasty vegetarian π± side dish perfect to accompany your lunch π₯, roasted chicken π grilled fish or other main courses. We can prepare cabbage π₯¬ salad all year round especially during its season when it is so fresh and tender. And during its season, its more accessible, cheap and healthy. A salad π₯ suitable for many dishes.
And apart from the fact that cabbage π₯¬ is versatile in the kitchen, cabbage is vegetable that has many health benefits like that of vitamin A, C, and K as well as natural antioxidants that prevents cancer and heart β₯οΈ disease π¦ by neutralizing free radicals.
However, cabbage promotes a healthy intestinal transit and prevents constipation as it contains lots of fiber . And besides this, cabbage juice has been indicated in the treatment of ulcers because it contains Alkaline properties that help reduce inflammation of the stomach lining. And the vitamin C helps strengthens the immune system which helps protects us from colds π₯Ά and flues π· during spring πΏππΈ.
Here we go ahead to prepare this spring flavors salad:
INGREDIENTS: -( 2 servings)
1 medium head cabbage
Few leaves π of lettuce
1 medium size cucumber
2 fresh medium size carrot π₯
2 tablespoons of creamy whippy
1 teaspoon of premium sugar
1 teaspoon of salt ( for sterilizing veggies )
1 cap of water guard (for sterilizing veggies)
STEPS FOR PREPARATION:
Step 1.
We start this recipe by washing the cucumber π₯ and sterilizing it with salt .
Then we cut , slice and dice the cucumber π₯ thinly.
As here above.
Step 2.
Next we cut the cabbage into 2 equal part as above.
Then into threes each to remove the back leaves and hard cores , before I slice each into thinly.
As here above.
Step 3.
Here will pour the cabbage slice into a big bowl π₯£ to wash and sterilize it, adding salt and water purifier.
Then will leave it for 5 minutes adding the sliced washed lettuce to it to sterilize too.
Here I sieve off the water and leave to drain.
Step 4.
Clean and slash cut the carrots, before thinly cutting it into straight shapes.
Then wash the sliced carrots here adding salt.
Step 5.
And we have our raw vegetables all ready here. Clean and sterilized.
Step 6.
Then will mix the Whippy Mayonnaise here adding some sugar for a bit of sweetness
As here above.
Step 7
To mix the salad π₯, I will first add the cabbage, lettuce π₯¬ in a large bowl π₯£, adding the cucumber π₯ to it.
Here will add the carrots π₯ to them.
Will stir all the vegetables properly to come together . As above.
Step 8.
Here added finally the mixed mayonnaise sugar cream to the mixed vegetable salad π₯ And stir them properly to incorporate all evenly.
Step 9.
Will serve this spring flavors and color boost healthy salad π₯. Refrigerate for few minutes to enjoy best.
Spring is so colorful and so is this salad that I have prepared. I have seen this recipe as one that is so tasty, flavorful and versatile, with just list of simple ingredients you can prepare this home delicious salad in a jiffy. A healthy side dish to pair with any main course you desire.
