Dhaka Story 2025: Visit To A Beautiful Cafe And Restaurant

in Foodies Bee Hive5 days ago (edited)

A couple of days have passed since my arrival in Dhaka, Bangladesh, for my Spring Festival Holidays. It was my first visit to one of the most hyped restaurants in the Metro Station Area, which is a newly developed area in the Northern area of Dhaka City. The Metro service of Dhaka City is a new means of mass transport that connects the north of Dhaka City 'Uttara' to the southern part of the City, the Kamlapur Railway Station, which is the largest railway station in the country. Only one route is currently active, and we have another 4 lines in the pipelines to make a good network. This single line saves around 2 hours of traffic for a greater number of people who travel on this route on a regular basis. So, this area has become very populated, and many restaurants and cafes are located there.

I visited the restaurant with my wife to meet my elder brother after I arrived in the City. The location was in the middle of our road home as my brother's office is far from the city center of Dhaka. It took around 30-40 minutes for both of us to meet in the area. We arrived there around 7:30 and chose this restaurant, which is known as 'Neuve'me Cafe & Restro,' which is probably from the French language, as Bangla names are quite different from this perspective. I have tried to find out the meaning of the term 'neuve' and found that it means something new and modern. This type of name is getting more popular among the young generation, who are connected to the whole world with stronger bonds than ever before.

After we got our seating arrangement, it was almost dinner time, as the ground floor and the garden area were completely filled with people. This shocked us because usually, on weekdays, these types of cafes and restaurants remain unpacked, but here, we experienced the filled ground area. So, we had to go up to the second floor, which was also beautiful with its bamboo and wooden structure. This second floor was almost empty; 70% of the tables were empty at that time. The restrooms were neat and clean, with hygienic surroundings. There was a live music show which was enjoyable for many people, but we chose our table quite far from the open music show.

We got our menu and tried some dishes of Duck meat, beef, seafood, and, most interesting, a solid collection of Bengali dishes, which seemed to be very delicious. We initially ordered some nun bread, duck meat, and some kebab to gain taste and quality information. We planned to add more dishes after we had experienced these dishes first.

The boring part starts from the excessive lateness of serving the food, and finally, we get our food. But unfortunately, the food was not up to the mark, especially the famous dishes Duck Curry was, not with a genuine taste. We, the Bengali people, love spicy foods, but this meat was sweet in taste, and I was missing the native taste so badly. So, we stopped the further investigation and
The chicken Reshmi kebab was our final dish, and we stopped ordering it because of the bad taste.

Though we had a solid amount of meat, I personally didn't like the sweet meat instead of the spicy meat that I love. But the nun bread was good, as it was quite soft and delicious, as usual with the other good-quality nuns. The last dish, Chicken Reshmi kebab, was also not so tasty but was better than the duck meat as it was quite soft and tender with a mild taste.

The overall surroundings and the environment in the restaurant were amazing, but the food that we tried was not up to the mark at all. They have a huge collection of foods, but I don't have much confidence in their taste. I will rate the restaurant 6/10 for overall consideration.

I hope you like my experience in the Neve'me cafe and Restro with some beautiful shots pf the restaurant. Though the food quality lacks but other fascilities rocks. If you have any questions, please let me know in the comments, and I will try my best to answer them.

Thanks a lot for your time and attention. I will catch up with you at the next one.
Wish you a great day!

The design of Neuve'mi Cafe & Restro Restaurant looks minimalist, I like that it is an open air place, and it seems to be an experience for all 5 senses. If it has a lot to offer besides the food, that's very appealing.

Good review.

Yeah, the Cafe offers a lot besides foods, the peaceful environment with large open -air accommodation is really attractive. It is a place to spend qualitative time there in the heart of a extremely populated city if Dhaka. Thanks for your comment. Have a nice day.

Vacations are great, it gives you a chance to take a break from the daily routine. I wish you and your wife a great vacation!

Hassan!
East Asians rated Bangladeshi food as spicier than Indian food.😃
I find it amusing that you claim that the cafe's facilities were great, but the food didn't live up to expectations!
I remembered that you went to Bangladesh last year and met your wife and family!Assalam alaykum! @tanzil2024 !

By the way, is that a hijab that your wife Araman is wearing? Does she wear a hijab on her head to follow Islamic law?

Isn't the Indian woman in this photo Muslim?

East Asian men find long hair on women from the Indian subcontinent very attractive!

I wonder if your beautiful wife would be willing to show off her hair!

If you feel my sentences are rude, please tell me!😂
