Hello my loving Hiveans,
How are you, First of all, my dear friends, I would like to wish you all a good night. I hope you all are very happy on the first day of the weekend. You brought a sweet recipe today to show my love to my friends through the art I love. Easy to make. This is a bakery product and very suitable for self employment. As Sri Lankans, we call this "Gnanakatha". This recipe can be made with or without eggs. Today I am bringing you the eggless method. This is called Sri Lankan eggs sugar cookies. So let's see how to make it.
Ingredients;
- A cup pf wheat flour
- A teaspoon of salt powder
- 75g of butter
- Half teaspoon of vanilla
- A teaspoon of baking powder
- 50g of icing sugar
- Three tablespoons of sugar
First, add butter or margarine that has been kept at room temperature for about an hour.
Now add half a teaspoon of vanilla and stir.
Now add icing sugar and stir continuously for two or three minutes.
After that add flour, salt powder and baking powder and stir this mixture well.
Then stir this mixture well by hand. After stirring for two to three minutes, a soft dough will be formed.
Make small balls of sathak as this amount of flour can make seven regular sized cookies.
Take the small balls made and place them on your palms and roll them well for about a minute.
Take a baking tray and spread some oil on it and then put an oil paper on it.
Take the small round balls one by one and place them on your palms and press them slightly with your hands.
Spread sugar top on the pressed cookies.
In the oven preheated to 160 degrees Celsius for ten minutes, bake at 160 degrees Celsius for about 5 minutes.
Even someone who doesn't really like sugar can eat this. Because the sweetness here is only in the sugar spread on top, the amount of sugar inside is very less.It doesn't take much time to make. Also, the amount of ingredients required is very less. I think this can be called srilankan eggs sugar cookies as a sweet food, even if you are not used to very sweet taste, when you are drinking tea, or if you are a little hungry, you can taste it together with your children.

The aroma and the taste complement each other. I hope I know how to bake so that I can prepare some for my family. I admire you for knowing that skill in baking.
In fact, the only sugar in this is the spread on top. Otherwise, the sugar inside is not that much. This is actually a very popular and very simple dish in my country.
Very nice steps one can learn from keep up with the good work 🥰
