I start learning how to cook Filipino food and my first try is chicken Sisig.
It's easy and simple to make but it's delicious.
Sisig is an authentic Filipino side dish or appetizer.
According to Wikipedia, sisig refers to “a method of preparing fish and meat, especially pork which is marinated in a sour liquid such as lemon juice or vinegar, then seasoned with salt, pepper and other spices.”
Many variations of making sisig. The most popular is – pork sisig. Other variations include chicken, bangus, tofu, seafood and a whole lot more.
Ingredients I use :
- Boneless chicken breast and liver
- onion, egg and vegetable oil (you can add green chilies if you want)
- calamansi juice, soy sauce, fish sauce, and mayonnaise
Step by Step :
Season chicken breast and liver with salt and pepper. Set aside.
In a pan, heat oil and fry chicken breast and liver until golden brown. When cooked, chop into small pieces and set aside.
In the same pan, saute onions and once translucent, add the chopped chicken. Add soy sauce, fish sauce, calamansi juice, mayonnaise, salt and pepper.
add one egg and mixed it.
serve with some vegetables you like
And that's it! I told you it's easy and simple, right? You can try this recipe. See you in my next recipe post! I hope you enjoyed cooking with me! 😊
