The best and easy pulled pork you will ever have

IMG-2212.jpg

I love BBQ and pulled pork is one of my favorites to make. It is really easy and really delicious. You won't believe how easy this is to make and it comes out amazing.

Ingredients

2-5lbs Country Style Pork Ribs
Bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce
32-64oz of Beef Broth

Directions

The first thing you will need is 2-5lbs of country style pork ribs. You can find these in most grocery stores and all butchers. They are typically $2-3/lbs in the US.

Depending on how much you are making, you will need one or two Beef Broth.

Set your crockpot to high and put in all your pork ribs and put enough beef broth to cover all the pork. It should look something like this.

It will need to cook for around 4.5-5 hours. It is important it is left long enough for the meat to get to the point it starts to fall apart. This usually happens right around this time. Any sooner and it won't be suitable for pulled pork.

Grab a cooking tray and line it with tin foil. I like to use what are called half oven sheets. They are large and take up roughly half the oven and can be used for cookies and many other recipes.

Once the meat starts to fall apart you are going to want to start to put it on a plate or some sort of container. If you cooked it long enough, you will need to be gentle or it will all fall apart into small pieces.

Once you have transported all the meat, one by one use a knife to slide off any fat from each piece and place it on the tray. The fat should come off with almost no pressure but will be extremely hot. You can let it cool for a while before doing this step as it is easy to burn your fingers. You want to get all the fat off each piece before putting on BBQ sauce.

When done it should look like this.

You should have a decent amount of fat and waste you can get rid of. Just do a quick look and see if you see any meat in there before removing it. It is fairly common to have some small pieces fall apart as you are doing the above process. Either eat them right away or use them for pulled pork.

The secret to it all is a good BBQ sauce. I am a big fan of Sweet & Spicy BBQ sauce and Sweet Baby Ray's is a great choice.

Don't be cheap, drown that pork.

IMG-2211.jpg

At this point, you can use two forks if you like (which will likely tear up the tin foil) or use your hands to crumble and mix all the sauce and pork. While mixing in the BBQ sauce you want to break up the pork into strands.

You should end up with something like this.

At this point you want to put it in the oven at 350 degrees for 10-20 minutes. I tend to go on the lower side where my wife likes it cooked longer.

You can use a nice doughy bun or bread to make a sandwich, or just eat it as is. I recommend putting on some more BBQ sauce once it has left the oven or use some on the side to dip into.

Sure pork is a fine and delicious meat but we don't have the patience of such culinary exercise in my part of the world. Above all, this should be great to try out. Cheers!

Sweet Baby Rays really is the best! I just got a Instant pot a while ago and I am interested in trying to make some pulled pork with that. I know it can do ribs from frozen in about 20 minutes. I am also looking forward to getting a boston butt at some point and smoking it on my new Weber Kettle grill.
