RE: Balay Dako: Overrated?

Haven't visited it kasi expensive ang menu, plus traffic lagi sa Tagaytay ( pre-pandemic days)

Out of all the stuff that you had mentioned sa food ito ang pinaka na notice ko.

I was kinda surprised the Sago't gulaman I had wasn't sweet but had a nice grass jelly and vanilla flavor.

Should it be that way? I have noticed that the preparation and flavouring in different to some places pero yun na nga, I realized that vanilla flavor is a staple taste to sago't gulaman na even here downsouth. For a kiddo who's used to magic sugar I find the taste refreshing parin naman.

Pero ang mahal nung foods tsaka 27 page menu! Jusme I cannot do it hanggang two to three pages lang ang kaya ko matatagalan ako umorder pag ganyan kahaba ang menu.

Most of the ones sold in the streets now are just instant. It has that weird bitter metallic aftertaste that just screams instant. Ones in the restaurants naman are too sweet but lacking flavor.

Siguro kaya and hilig ko sa gulaman kasi sa dati kong school may nag titinda ng palamig na tag dos at singko madami yung bigay tapos marami ding sago.
