Hi Everyone,
On our way to Mt Fuji, we stopped at a pit stop and saw this cute little apple pie dessert shop called Mille Mele. With my limited Japanese, they claim their apple pies are world number one. Look at this: For 500 yen, that price is a little high for an apple pie in Japan, but seeing how it looks very appealing, I thought, "Let’s try it."
At the time, there was an original and a chocolate flavour. We picked the original flavour, which was nice and warm. The pastry was very crunchy on the outside, and it was filled with apple filling. The pastry itself isn’t big, so it was really a bite for the four of us. I do admit the pastry smelled so nice, and the filling wasn’t too sweet, which I prefer. There were lots of apples, for sure.
It was a nice little snack at the rest stop. We love Japanese rest pit stops, they have lots of local food and the occasional gems like we found that day.
