That's a fair question and we really do need to be careful with crypto.
I've been using XUMM wallet for 3 years now and it's incredibly secure. It's actually so secure that if you lose your secret numbers passcode, it's actually impossible to get back into it, no one can help you. (Make sure you write down your security numbers somewhere safe!)

Some people on Hive are also on gFam, and I think everyone on gFam has connected other social media sites like Instagram or Twitter, so you could jump on gFam.live and click on someone's name, follow them on their social media and ask them about their experience with gFam and XUMM - get some second opinions on the security of the site and wallet.
