Hot pot Seafood steamed egg
Nope! Not exactly what it's called. I just kinda name it from its look 'Seafood volcano!'. That was the featured dish of a restaurant we drove across the province just to go try during our family meet-up during new year. It's pretty much a steamed egg with many kinds of seafoods served in a hot pot. Not too sure what's the secret to make it looks like some kind of volcano eruption instead of having it smooth and flat so, that has become the charm of it.
Tatia Mackerel
It's mackerel that's boiled in a sweet and sour soup. Main ingredients of the sauce are tamarind, sugar and a few herbs. This is my family's favorite. Not mine exactly as I found it a little too sweet of a sauce to be on a fish. Every time we go to any seafood restaurants though, this was one of the must-orders of my fam so I guess it's worth trying if you ever make it to a Thai seafood restaurant here in Thailand so you can judge it yourself!
Giant catfish roe hot and sour orange soup
Ooooh! This kind of roe, even cavier can't beat it! #lol Over exaggerated, of course. I don't even think I have tried the fancy cavier but this, Giant catfish roe is sure a killer! It's probably one of my most favorite seafood dishes especially when it's cooked in this kind of hot and sour orange soup. The roe is not popped in your mouth like salmon roes do but more like, soft chewy texture almost like a jelly but a little fishy goodness. Goes so well with some tangy taste like this orange soup!
Deep-fried whole fish with spicy green mango salad
Another yummy one! Hella crispy as they cut the fish open, take out all the inside and dump it right into the hot boiling oil. Fooooo~~~ That's the sound! Then we know we kinda love it tasteful so we gotta have some sauce to go with it. Guess what, some smart brain came up with a combination of shredded green mango, fish sauce, lime sauce, fresh chili, garlic, and red shallots. Just spoon it and have it on top of every bite. Bite by bite, of course so that it keeps being crispy as it's supposed to!
Looking at all these yummy looking food and now you wonder, where is this exactly. It's Rim Khuean Seafood, Mueang Samut Prakan District, Samut Prakan. Quite a big restaurant. The food's good and so affordable compared to other seafood restaurants in the same area.
