Growing up, I thought Cakes are just for special occasions, like birthday parties, weddings, and other special events.
I still remember how my heart will leap for joy and my tummy doing the happy dance at the sight of a cake, you don't want to see me digging in with a slow nod, along with a big and cheerful smile, while kicking my feet, back and forth in rhythm to the beat playing in my head, at that moment, you are free to offend me all you like, baby girl will take no offense.
So you can understand how I felt when I opened the door one morning and my neighbor was standing at my door all smiling with a cake on the tray she carried for a friend's birthday celebration. And behold, my day got started and ended peacefully, just looking at the cake, I definitely heard it say to me, eat me, eat me . In all honesty, the cake was super delicious, and delicate, and tasted heavenly. it was everything a cake should be.
The Blue Ice
Talking about the icing, I loved the color of the icing because blue is one of my favorite colors, The blue color icing gave the cake a different vibe entirely. I stared at the cake, smiling, for more than 5mins just admiring the beautiful blue icing and I just had to picture the moment.
For me, Cake is that go-to treat that gives me a special kind of Joy but it also makes me hyperactive
And you don't want to be around me when I am that active.
My love for cake pushed me to go learn how to bake, so whenever I am cake hungry, I'd go visit the oven, and I've also come to understand that cakes are not just for special occasions, I can get it or make it whenever I desire because the appetite gotta have what the appetite wants.
The best part about baking at home is that I get to be creative and decorate it as I like, also starring different recipes just for the fun of it. While baking I have come to understand that even though your cake is delicious on the inside, it actually sends the first message with its outward appearance, the appearance of a cake is the first thing that attracts people, the appearance of a cake calls attention like a beautiful lady with red lipstick on. Then the taste of the cake comes next, then the flavor. vanilla flavor has been and it is common, when baking I love mixing flavors, sometimes I do a drop of banana flavor and vanilla flavor, or butterscotch and vanilla. But when baking a marble cake, I use different colors depending on the colors I am using, for pink/red color, I'd use a strawberry flavor, for yellow, I'd use banana flavor or butterscotch, for Green color, lemon goes with it and for the blue color, I'd use vanilla.
Baking is beautiful because there is no one way of going about it, it is a creative process, and you can surprise your taste buds with how creative you are.
