This morning we popped into town for a late breakfast and visited one of the homiest little seaside cafes and then also got a take away Churro from a sweeeeeet place around the corner!
First the Tasty Table! It’s one of the few restaurants in Jeffreys Bay that has a sea view. I find this pretty shocking for a surf town that literally survives on the surfing tourism. But this place is thriving!
We have visited over the years and it just keeps on getting better and better. The service was spot on! Attentive waiters, our coffees and milkshakes arrived quite quickly (Barrista style coffee - not a quick pour filter) and the food was DELICIOUS!!!!
Grant and my son had the breakfast wrap which was too huge to pick up in your hands. And I had the roast vegetable flat bread which is one of the tastiest and healthy meals that I’ve had at a restaurant lately.
It was all roasted butternut, mushroom, sweet potato, baby cherry tomatoes, baby marrows and the layered with cream cheese and caramelised onion. All on top of a flat bread and sprinkled with feta! It’s so simple but so so good that I polished off the lot!
And if that was not enough, I couldn’t resist the little sweet shop around the corner. The Do Fill shop has only been open for 2 weeks and they were so happy to see me walk through the doors.
I was warmly greeted by a lovely older couple who were quick to ask if I liked the shop and tell me all about the decorating process.
I think they’ve done a good job that suits their brand really well. They specialise in filled churros!!! And slushes. Churros are not necessarily a staple in South Africa as I think most folk would be more familiar with doughnuts it churros are just the bees knees!
The owner makes them fresh as you order, so my caramel and cinnamon filled churro was hot from the oil when she handed it over. Diet? What diet??!?
This baby disappeared in about 2 minutes flat with my husband grabbing a bit too.
Next time we will be back for more!
We’ve actually managed to limit our eating out on this holiday and have maintained our exercise so I think we’re going home feeling good and not too overindulged. But we still have a couple days to go before we get home. So watch this space 😜
This is really an enjoyment for you. It would be a memorable one

Never say a diet in a place like that! Whoa, what a wonderful holiday!
I’ve been trying to be so careful with all my baking. I only bake when we have friends coming to visit so that it’s a treat we can share. But being on holiday messes it all up 😂. It’s been wonderful though!
