The pandemic brought a lot of changes to society. Even our educational system altered because of it. After two years of online distance learning, finally, it's time to face the pupils again face-to-face. I was so excited when I heard the news that our school will apply for face-to-face classes from the opening of the academic year 2022 to 20223.
It was August 1, 2022, when we started our preparation. The whole school was all newly painted, the wall, the chalkboard, and even the tables and chairs. There were also new equipment. As a science teacher, I couldn't contain my happiness seeing the 3 units of the microscope. I've been wanting to have one of that in school for better learning of the pupils. There were also new units of the flat screen TV for each room for our PowerPoint presentation and also projector units. I did really think that this year is going to be an awesome and meaningful year for all of our pupils.
Our enrolment boomed also when our school administrator announced on our official social media account the good news. During the pandemic the enrolment literally went down because online distance learning is inconvenient for them as the Internet here in the Philippines is unstable. Many have transferred to other schools that offered modular learning.
Since our classroom is newly furnished, we decorated each of our classrooms.
I have a challenging task since the school administrator assigned me to be the adviser of two classes which means that I have two classrooms and that I need to decorate them too. Well, honestly I am not an artsy person. I only decorate my room very simply. I only know how to letter cut but not to make flowers out of paper. Well, anyway, simplicity is beauty, right?
The first day of classes was announced to be on the 15th day of August. When that day came, I was very excited to wear our new uniform and so I went to school very early.
Seeing the pupils face-to-face after two years of virtual classes made my heart full. I am so happy.
I saw the excitement of the pupils as they walked through the school gate. Their excitement and happiness to see the school and their classmates are so obvious. There were new pupils as well which made the school more exhilarating.
The pupils were also active in participating in the election of classroom officers. There ought to be leaders for every class. That is also to train their leadership and communication skills. They are most proud of having the position they got.
In the coming weeks, we will be starting our formal classes. Yahoo!
On Saturday, books arrived and we all came to sort it all out.
For sure, the kids will be happy and their parents as well. And I have also been very busy making my lesson plan for this week. I hope everything will be carried out according to my plans and with the help of God.

Congratulations on surviving the first week! Hope you survive the rest of the school year! 😅 But on a serious note, it's about time kids go back to school. Pretty sure they miss their classmates, friends, teachers, and hopefully the studying!

Good job! My first week was hectic but fun this year. I hope it ends up being more fun than hectic going forward.
I hope we both have a great year teaching the kids. It will be very hectic for sure but I know it will all be fun.

That is so true. There really is a big difference between online distance learning and face to face classes.
