Before October ends, allow me to share one of this month's highlights in the lives of our dear teachers.
Last October 04, we celebrated World Teacher's Day. With the latest curriculum that we have been applying, teachers are in agony about the number of subjects and preparations we have to do, so taking a day's rest is a blessing to us. Indeed, on a day of celebrating teachers' contribution to the world, we took our time, uncaged ourselves from the hectic class schedules, entertained and pampered by our students with their gifts and surprises, dined out, and celebrated ourselves. It was a day of surprises, of fun, of memories.
My Grade 9-Loyalty advisory surprised me with balloons, cupcakes, chocolates, paper-made flowers, and heartfelt written messages. One of them was tasked to read their class message for me, aiming to see me cry in front of them. I almost got carried away with the message but I quickly diverted my attention to the "sweets" on my table. I thanked them and told them jokingly that maybe their chocolates could give me a longer life. Hahaha. On top of that, I am grateful for having responsible students like them, for making my work less stressful.
In the afternoon, there was a program intended for us. Students entertained us with their talents - singing, dancing, and a lot more. We were also given tokens and certificates of appreciation. It was indeed a happy teacher's day for us!
For our dinner, we decided to dine outside. We had our dinner at Capitancillo restaurant. When we were about to pay, we were informed that it was sponsored to us by our former colleague who resigned and went abroad - looking for better opportunities. It was once in a lifetime experience where we all gather and share laughter with one another.
Hats off to all the teachers around the world! Thank you for teaching at your best and for surviving each day!❤️
