Beginner's Brazilian Zouk Dance with Teacher Jem at Boracay Island

Here is an additional dance video for my collection Afro-Latin Dance Madness. I and Teacher Jem are dancing Brazilian Zouk and I am still at a Beginner's level. It's different from what I'm used to dancing - Bachata & Kizomba. I feel like the steps and turns are a bit slow but graceful. It's very technical and so I want to learn it only from the best once I'm in optimal health.

The most characteristic feature of Brazilian Zouk is the follower's upper body movements which are led out of axis by intricate leading and following techniques. Other features include body isolations, tilted turns and more recently counter-balance techniques. Brazilian Zouk is a dance with well defined basic steps and rhythmic patterns. The representation of these steps and rhythmic patterns varies depending on the substyle of Zouk. Source

This dance video was also shot on the beautiful island of Boracay during the last day of our stay there last November 2022. Though the skies were cloudy, we were lucky that rain only started to pour after our video shoot. 😁 I enjoyed this dance and making this video and made me realize how I had fun. No pressure to be perfect or need to get the steps right.

To more dances with beautiful souls in the future! 💃

Hi @usagigallardo015! Unfortunately, I dont have new dance videos yet coz i havent been able to dance lately due to some circumstance but for sure someday!.

I love zouk dancing and I love the way he starts with a little kizomba and then brings the zouk into the dance.

Yes! The transitions were so smooth. i love kizomba and starting to fall in love with zouk!

That's a pretty dance. Pero I feel like it is so hard for me specially I have a hard body. And the dance is medyo sexy din no. Very intimate specially with a partner. Para ang saya nya lang sayawin sa tabing dagat 🤩

Sometimes I can't believe that you are a beginner in these dances, because you come out amazing, although I can't say much since I am not an expert, but believe me it is something very nice to see and that at a certain point makes you want to try, so I always like the dances that you bring, they are different and great, thanks for always posting, best regards ❤️
