Vermögensverschleierungsbekämpfungsgesetz
I want to start by saying German is a remarkable language (I spent several years studying the language). Just reading that word is an experience. Then, as to the content of your blog: One gets the sense of a vice closing. I remember reading recently that in the U.S. there is a law that addresses expatriates. If someone renounces their U. S. citizenship (no, I'm not contemplating that), and they are considered a 'covered' individual, they have to pay taxes on everything they own. Everything that they own that may pay dividends in the future, even. The law supposedly is directed at wealthy people, but anyone who earned an average of more than 190,000 over the last five years may be covered. In the U.S., there are teachers who earn more than that.
Fascinating (disturbing) subject. Hope your family is settling in and continuing to enjoy their new surroundings.
