I do want to step up for the cyclists here! Yes, there are many that don't obey the rules, have more attention to their phones and music on their headphones and pretend to be king (or queen) of the road.
But I see the agressiveness more as a general problem. People have short fuses nowadays.
I'm a cycling commuter too bybthe way, but I respect the rules and never have pulled my finger.
