RE: How costly is it to use a European credit card in UK? This is how much I paid to exchange Euros to Pounds.

I keep telling you, use revolut for these things. See for yourself: https://www.revolut.com/currency-converter/

Sort:

Ja Revolut finde ich aus dieser Sicht gut. DKB und Trade REpublic -Debitkarten nutzen auch den mitterlen Kurs..

I don't know the other ones, but I use Revolut often, since I travel quite a lot :)

thx for the reminder, this looks much better, are there also additional fees for currency conversions?

Not unless you exchange more than EUR 1.000 per month with the free plan I use. See further details here: https://www.revolut.com/en-DE/legal/standard-fees/

studied the terms a bit, seems there are some payment fees also, a fee whenever you pay with the card? and a fee for transferring money to the card? maybe also an international payment fee when used outside the Euro zone / EU?

This one should be relevant for personal use for a Austrian: https://www.revolut.com/en-AT/legal/standard-fees/

I use the card when I travel, and for wiring money to people from outside the Czech Republic.

I’ve never paid anything extra besides of that 0.5% for converting more than 1k euro, but even this happened just once or twice. My girlfriend has the app too, so we can exchange up to 2k with no fee.

Aren’t these when you use revolut for businesses? When you charge somebody?

I’ve never paid any fee.
