Alles Gute zum 1. Mai :)
Was sagt ihr dazu?

Happy May 1st :)
In Austria, parts of Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia there is the tradition on or before May 1st to put up a delimbed and peeled maypole in the village square.
Where exactly the tradition comes from is not entirely clear, some suspect the origin in Bavaria, Southern Germany.
Around the maypole there are also other funny traditions, like climbing up the tree or attaching "Liebesmaien" (Love May) to the houses or windows of young women.
In the "love may" tradition, unmarried men attach small trees or branches to the houses of unmarried women, the girlfriend or the worshipped one. As a kind of affection or proof of love.
Today maybe roughly comparable to a heart like or follow on social media or online dating, if you can compare that at all.
There were also less friendly gifts to show disfavor to a hated woman ("Schandmai", "Shame May"). A kind of dislike, so to speak 😂
What do you say to this? Did you know the tradition with the maypole and "love may"? Do you have similar traditions in your country like gifting decorated branches to loved ones, and ugly branches to hated ones?

haha, oje, hoffentlich nichts passiert.
There are a lot of different traditions so I am not surprised but I don't know if people really bother with in today's society. I just think that someone might be called a creep if it were to happen.
dono abt may pole.. but thanks for sharing this :)
Sadly, in my country, people for whom this day is celebrated keeps on working on this day.
Pretty cool, I never heard of it before!
The countries that pays tribute to labour's of their country are successful in true means. It's amazing to see that kind of tradition's followed by people even now. Labour day should be regarded this much respectful in every country.
Nice write-up!
The Czech republic is my favorite country and I will definitely visit it one day because I have seen in many pictures that it is very beautiful. Such type of event's, they are meant to connect people with each other, these days people laugh, play and enjoy a lot with each other.
