Der ehemalige Präsident der EZB und ehemalige Ministerpräsident von Italian Mario Draghi hat in einem Financial-Times-Artikel die "internen Barrieren" und "regulatorischen Hürden" innerhalb des EU-Binnenmarkts kritisiert und meint, dass diese einen weitaus negativeren Effekt hätten als jegliche Zölle der USA.
Trotz Harmonisierung ist es vor allem für kleinere Firmen immer noch sehr schwierig länderübergreifend in der EU aktiv zu sein. Das liegt nicht nur an den vielen Sprach-Barrieren innerhalb der EU, sondern vor allem auch an der Bürokratie und dem Regulierungs-Dschungel.
Der IWF schätzt, dass diese "internen Barrieren" (Bürokratie und Regulierung) in der EU einem Zollsatz von 45% für die Industrie und 110% für Dienstleistungen gleichkommen.
Eine Studie, die Draghi zitiert, kommt zum Ergebnis, dass zum Beispiel alleine die Einhaltung der Datenschutz-Regulierung (DSGVO) den Profit kleiner europäischer Tech-Firmen um 12% schmälert.
Andererseits ist es auch gut, sensibler mit personenbezogenen Daten umzugehen und die Verwendung der Daten genauer unter die Lupe zu nehmen. Die Frage ist, ob das mit den ganzen Cookie-Bannern in der EU und den tausenden Consent-Einwillungen wirklich etwas bringt oder nicht oder nur einen bürokratischen Mehraufwand verursacht ohne das tatsächliche Problem zu lösen. User stimmen einfach allem zu, was ihnen angezeigt wird.
Regulierung, die vielleicht gut gemeint ist und hohe Standards setzen will, kann sich meiner Meinung nach auch schnell zu einem echten Wettbewerbsnachteil und einer Innovationsbremse der EU entwickeln.

The former President of the ECB and former Prime Minister of Italy Mario Draghi has criticized the “internal barriers” and “regulatory hurdles” within the EU single market in a Financial Times article and believes that these would have a far more negative effect than any tariffs imposed by the US.
Despite harmonization, it is still very difficult for smaller companies in particular to operate across borders in the EU. This is not only due to the many language barriers within the EU, but above all to the bureaucracy and the regulatory burden.
The IMF estimates that these “internal barriers” (bureaucracy and regulation) in the EU are equivalent to a tariff rate of 45% for industry and 110% for services.
A study cited by Draghi comes to the conclusion that, for example, compliance with data protection regulation (GDPR) alone reduces the profits of small European tech companies by 12%.
On the other hand, it is also good to handle personal data more sensitively and to take a closer look at how data is used. The question is whether or not mandatory cookie banners in the EU and thousands of consent forms will really make a difference or just cause extra bureaucracy without solving the actual problem. Users simply agree to everything that is displayed to them.
In my opinion, regulation that is perhaps well-intentioned and aims to set high standards can quickly develop into a real competitive disadvantage and a barrier to innovation in the EU.

Shooting themselves in the knee is the usual modus operandi of the EU, in this, most EU countries are alike. I mean, who needs enemies when we can do it in house! Just laughing about this, because it is so typical, and really nothing new.
Bin der absolut gleichen Meinung. Wir machen uns mit der ganzen Bürokratie und teils unnötigen Richtlinien und Gesetzen das Leben selber schwer.
Ich bin ein Fan vom Grundgedanken der EU, aber so darf es nicht weitergehen. Es muss sich grundsätzlich was ändern, angefangen bei den einzelnen Mitgliedsstaaten.
Vor allem die blöden Cookie Banner sind doch total überflüssig. Aber gleich ne Abmahnung im Kasten, wenn das nicht genau eingehalten wird.
Das ist auch so ein (deutsches?) Problem, diese Abmahnabzocke von "Mitbewerbern". Hat schon so manchen davon abgehalten überhaupt erst was zu starten.
Irre, zum Glück gibt es diese Abmahnpraxis in Österreich nicht so ausgeprägt, die Banner nerven, die EU hat damit das Internet sabotiert, jeden Tag x Banner wegklicken.

Und vorallem was bringt die Angabe? Was wiederum passiert, obs eingehalten wird ist doch was ganz anderes.
More regulation no matter how well intentioned always makes things worse in my opinion. It really sounds like it's slowing economic growth with all the regulation. I think Draghi is right, hitting the nail on the head!
Draghi is a criminal, he said so much crap last years, like with greenpass people wouldn't be contagious or in Ukraine war stuff like "you want peace or air conditioning?" to justify price increases
I think Draghi is right. Bureaucracy and regulations in the EU will have more severe effects than US-imposed tarrifs. The EU needs to stop worrying about US tarrifs and set it's house in order first.

I think the EU is way too regulated. They have way too much regulation that I tend to agree with him.
