Amy Adams shines in this dramatic comedy-drama by director Marielle Heller that adapts Rachel Yoder's novel in an engaging and comic way.
It's an apt dramatic comedy that takes us into the deepest state of motherhood and the changes it brings mentally and emotionally with an apt touch of humour that makes an impressive Amy Adams shine all the more.
Amy Adams who carries the film on her shoulders with all her charisma and talent for us to enjoy a great character journey.
The talented actress once again shines in a leading role that can only be understood in the skin of Adams, who gives her all in this mental and emotional journey of a character that is complex and addictive on both sides.

Marielle Heller's adaptation is audacious and with a clear message, without hiding anything, but it should also be mentioned that it is a somewhat confusing journey to enter first as a spectator.
It's a film with all the feminine meaning behind it and it's plotted in such a way that it's hard to understand how a man could write all this allegory about motherhood and the creation of the species that the director plays with in a sharp and audacious way, perfectly reflecting the wonderful monologues in which both Amy Adams and Scoot McNairy shine.
On the other hand, although it is true that the premise of the film seems to promise a viscerality that in practice is not very explored, the metaphor of transformation is very apt.
Not only does it speak to the obvious physical changes that pregnancy and childbirth bring for women, changes that are also glimpsed in Adams' character.
But it also brings up the sense of the lack of control, that these bodily and mental mutations are impossible to master. Heller explains that there is no optimal way to be a mother, each one must explore her options and see which is the right way to find the balance.
Sounds like a film we could relate to. That's a good one. Nice review
I agree this movie it's very metaphoric, and speak about the motherhood in a quote raw real way, I quite appreciate it also if in my opinion the last part was too messy.
I agree with your appreciation of the last part.
I feel like I am gonna really like this movie
