Prime Video's new venture is a strange thriller with comedic overtones that never quite defines which of the two paths to take to give us more satisfaction.
Mimi Cave evolves in her direction, which allows the film, for all its cons, to invite you to stay until the end.
It has interesting plots, especially at the beginning, but as we discover new things in the story the film seems to get tangled up in the decisions it has to make and that is where we feel a little strange as viewers as to where to take our expectations or our final sensations.

While both of these aspects are funny in their execution, their combination doesn't quite fit the story we're being presented with.
Its moments of comedy are well achieved and its moments of thriller don't manage to provide the final trigger that would leave us with a more satisfactory sensation.
With a cast headed by Nicole Kidman, Gael García Bernal and Matthew Macfadyen, we are left with the feeling that their performances are not fully exploited.
While Kidman is the heart and soul of the film, her moments of self-doubt also affect her performance, taking away from the actress's ability to completely let loose in her role.
A similar thing happens with the two men in the cast, who also feel limited, even though their performances are well done.
There are moments of success within all this indefinition that the film has, and those successes are when we enter the mental game of our protagonist, where at times her indefiniteness is transferred to us and we are left at the crossroads of how real everything we are seeing is. However, we also find an absence of daring when it comes to exploding in its final metres, and the sensation remains that the film limits itself to overflowing as it seemed it was going to do everything.
A journey of sweet and sour that in perspective ends up limiting a film with a lot of things it could have delivered.
