Interesting claim composed of the plot leftovers of relatively recent sagas: the claustrophobic value of “The Purge” reconverted throughout its sequels into a collective fever, but with werewolves.

It even has the main protagonist of its last installments: Frank Grillo.

The film exploits its low budget quite well, trying to mask it through small spaces and uniform streets where the action unfolds in a more or less reasonable way.

There are no excessively original situations beyond those provided by its approach, which is even a suggestive excuse to delve into the mythology of its problems.

I do not think that the viewer of the day will be interested in much more than what is shown here: the professional critics who label its premise as wasted will be right depending on the expectation.

I think the self-improvement monologues of the protagonist's sister-in-law are unnatural, as well as the fact that after a year of turning her house into a powder keg, she runs out of ammunition after two minutes.

On the other hand, it is even logical that the film takes advantage of a certain parodic self-consciousness (present in its codes) when characterizing some of its lycanthropes.

Beyond that, no matter how much personal conflict there is about the transcendence of courage and bravery, it is obvious that the film is a vehicle for the protective masculinity of a Frank Grillo who continues to fight.

Werewolves' is an hour and a half long film that gets straight to the point. It introduces the characters and after fifteen minutes we already have the mess mounted.

Its director starts off very well, playing with light and shot composition to get you into the film but, inevitably, he has to show you the werewolves as the footage progresses.

On the one hand, I appreciate that there is no overload of special effects and those that it has are well used, but on the other hand I think they had too little budget for its final part and more than one and two will have a few laughs at its expense.
