... Oi. ..

I don't know what took me so long to get to this series but I'm very grateful I did because every single episode felt like an unending journey to a goal that seemed unachievable.

For a series that completely rips off a bunch of other superhero characters, It sure had a very solid idea of what a hero should look like, act like, and even talk like... In real life.
And with a lot of superhero series being released lately, Only the boys have told what it means to have powers in a world where everyone is born powerless.

I started the series in season one and quickly got engrossed in its plot. A simple rebellion plot that we have come to see in various movies like star wars, and a couple of other movies. But in the case of the boys, they took simple and broke it down into a complex reality where a man by the name of, William Butcher, loses his wife to an unknown circumstance. People beg him to move on and accept that his wife is dead, but he constantly refuses. Now driven by an enraged love, and powered by Vengeance, he began his mission to find his wife. But to do so, he recruits a bunch of unlikely fellows who join him on a murderous crusade against a company of superheroes who he believes are responsible for his wife's disappearance.

Have you ever imagined what superheroes would look like or act like if they were not all smiling on cameras? Or have you ever asked yourself, what would I do if I really had superpowers?

For me, I asked myself these questions a couple of times and if I'm being honest with myself In the second question, I always see myself running off at superspeed with half of the grocery store in my hand, smiling and kissing the wind..lolz.
I know we all think we can be good when we get superpowers but when we realize that we are the ones with powers and no one can stop us, we can easily develop a case of power lust, and act in complete recklessness and disregard for the laws that govern us. And such is the case in this movie.

** A rogue superhero who is paid to act like a hero on camera but when the cameras go off, and the adoring fans are away, he becomes the gatekeeper of hell, unleashing his flaming vengeance on anyone who dares to challenge his authority.**
A good description of Homelander who is an alternate character of superman and is not afraid to use his powers.

And then there's also an alternate Wonder woman(warrior Maybe), flash(A-train), Aquaman (Deep), Star girl(starlight)

But here is the real kicker, Willam butcher who is the main person this story is centered around, is actually an alternate version of batman.
The difference between him and the actual Batman is that he lacks funds and constantly needs help, and gadgets from his friends and coworkers, and he does most of his fighting during the day instead of at night. But just like the actual Batman, he is not afraid to stand against a force that is greater than him(Homelander).

And here is one that I find actually interesting, Hughie Campbell, who I believe is an alternate Ben10 why? Because of his jacket. It's designed like that of Ben from that animated series Ben 10.

Finally, I've come to understand Homelanders point of view, he is a child in the body of a powerful being exacting his anger for being raised without Love. His desperate desire to be acknowledged and loved has led to him doing unimaginable things. So before you actively judge him as evil, ask yourself what would superman do if he was feared and hated by his adopted parents? Ask yourself what would superman be if the never met Lois Lane and found true love. Your final answer should have you staring at a picture of Homelander.
