Hello, internet people! I'm very excited as always to participate in this contest and the subject matter suits me like a glove. As some of you may know, 18th century crime literature is one of my favourites, so I love reading books like Arsene Lupin and of course Sherlock Holmes, in fact I wrote a book of this genre (which you can find in my profile by chapter). That's why when the Sherlock Holmes movie came out, I had to go and see it at the cinema.
¡Hola, gente de internet! Estoy muy emocionada como siempre de participar en este concurso y es que el tema me viene como anillo al dedo. Como algunos sabrán, la literatura criminal del siglo XVIII es una de mis preferidas, así que amo leer libros como Arsene Lupin, y claro está Sherlock Holmes, de hecho escribí un libro de este género (que pueden encontrar en mi perfil por capítulo). Es por eso que cuando salió la película de Sherlock Holmes, tuve que ir a verla al cine.

The film retains that touch of the books, that mystery and the viewer's desire to unravel it, as well as the plot twist in the story. I haven't read every Sherlock book, so I don't know if the film takes reference from any of the books or if the story was written directly for the film.
La película guarda ese toque con respecto a los libros, ese misterio y las ganas del espectador de desentrañarlo, además del giro argumental que presenta la historia. No he leído cada libro de Sherlock, así que desconozco si la película toma de referencia de alguno de los libros o si directamente la historia fue escrita para la película.
I love the balance between the comedy and the mystery in the film and how step by step, as in the books, we gradually unravel the mystery from the eyes of Sherlock himself.
Me encanta el equilibrio que hay entre la comedia y el misterio dentro de la película y como poco a poco en los libros, vamos desentrañando el misterio desde los ojos del mismo Sherlock.
Since this is not a review, I don't want to talk about the aspects of the film in detail as I always do, but in general. The performances are quite good and the cinematography (which as you know is one of my favourite aspects) is stunning. There are a lot of wide and aerial shots which are one of my favourites. I also love the setting as it is very well done, it clearly places us in 18th century England and the colour palette refers us to a mystery film, which after all is the genre it belongs to.
Dado a que esto no es una review, no quiero hablar de los aspectos de la película de forma desglosada como siempre lo hago, sino que lo haré de forma general. Las actuaciones son bastante buenas y la fotografía (Que como ya saben es de mis aspectos preferidos) es impresionante. Hay muchos planos amplios y aéreos que son de mis preferidos. También la ambientación me encanta ya que está muy bien lograda, claramente nos sitúa en la Inglaterra del siglo XVIII y la paleta de colores nos referencia a un película de misterio, que al fin y al cabo es el género al que pertenece.
It's clearly one of those films that I love to watch every time it's on TV and often end up searching online to watch it again.
Claramente es de esas películas que me encanta ver cada vez que la pasan en la televisión y que incluso muchas veces termino buscando en línea para verla de nuevo.

I really liked Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law as Sherlock and Watson. It's too bad they didn't do more films with these characters. Love Guy Ritchie films. Great post!
