They announced that they were making this back when Squid Game came out and it had so much success. I think they are trying to play off of that. I didn't really see the need for a remake and I will likely just skip this one. I am sure it will do well though. The weird stuff always seems to and the good stuff like The OA and Sens8 gets cancelled after one or two seasons.

Yup exactly! I get the hype of wanting to continue a good show or recreating it to keep that "buzz" but man I just don't get the benefits of it in this way. OA was so good, it deserved to keep going.
