Hello and welcome to the 8TH edition of Cine TV Community Spotlight. In a bid to boost engagement and interaction in the community, as well as showcase the work of deserving authors, the Cine TV Spotlight Series has begun.

And it’s all simple. At the end of every week, we spotlight works by authors based on the content, originality, style and word count. It is not a contest but just our way of creating exposure for the works that we enjoyed throughout the week and to also boost exceptionally written content by our authors. Simply put, give it your best and have fun while at it, and then we showcase your work here.

So, in no particular order, here are the authors spotlighted for this week:

Through colourful characters, witty dialogue and hilarious situations, ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ invites us to reflect on the importance of true love and authenticity in a world obsessed with wealth and status. In addition to Rachel and Nick's story, the film also introduces us to a number of memorable supporting characters who bring humour, drama and emotion to the plot, creating a rich and immersive tapestry of human relationships and generational conflict.

Title: What Would You Do In An Alligator Infestation

Crawl.jpeg

I don't know if it's because it's been a while since I watched a movie with severe jump scares or I was too unprepared for a scene like that but the jump scares in this movie were jump scaring. I wasn't really expecting the way the first alligator in all it's majestic beauty, graced us (the viewers) with his presence and before I could control my surprise, a scream had been let out. This movie is the kind that even if you made up your mind not to let all your guards down, it'll still find a way to break through those barriers and have your tough heart skipping a beat.

Title: Behind Her Eyes

Behind Her Eyes.jpeg

All four characters are excellently developed and the performances are outstanding. The flashbacks, on this occasion, are not annoying; on the contrary, they add to the narrative. The series was filmed in London and Scotland, and I can't fail to mention the beauty of the landscapes, especially the forests and the house where the protagonists settle down after getting married, which is truly charming (the bathtub, for example, is a real delight).

Title: Review of Mad Max Fury Road

Self Made.jpeg

If you watch the movie, with Walker being the hero, you'll get the impression that Walker was wronged and called too ugly to represent the brand. You'll be filled with so much pity that you'll forget to realize that this was in fact the truth and that Annie did no wrong. Furthermore, Walker's new hair grower brand got successful and she competed with Annie in the same city and left the city later on. While watching the movie the general sentiment was that it was great to see her succeed when Annie doubted her, you would even start to wish Annie ill.

Title: The Bikeriders

Bikeriders.jpeg

In addition to successfully reflecting a nostalgic period, the conflict between individuals, the way the sense of belonging is handled and the use of crime-ridden streets were other factors that made the production successful. The romantic scenes interspersed with all of this take the story to a whole new level. Kathy and Benny's love is depicted in the romantic scenes and Benny's passion for motorcycles and his bond with the club, which is shown as the biggest obstacle in front of them, is perfectly portrayed.

Title: The Beekeeper

In "The Beekeeper," Jason Statham manages to take the adrenaline and intensity of combat to new levels. Throughout his career, Statham has become synonymous with brutal yet stylish action movies. From the famous "Transporter" to the recent "Wrath of Man," Statham has continued to impress with his physical performances and talent for playing tough characters who can dominate the screen with just a look. The role of Adam Clay is no exception: Statham brings his background in martial arts and hand-to-hand combat to create a memorable character that leaves a strong impression.
