Cine TV Contest #128 - Favorite Movie in New York City

in CineTV3 days ago

Hello CineTV

The Super Bowl was the biggest event that I have ever attended, an American Football game that is watched the world over. This year was not a very enjoyable game but it was very memorable for my Dad and me. It got me thinking that there are so many movies that are centered around a singular large event. It could be a holiday, a milestone of some kind, or maybe a big event like the Super Bowl!

We had so many great entries and I want to thank everyone for their entries in this contest. It is so great to have so much engagement and I am so appreciative. If you have any questions or suggestions please contact me in the Discord or tag caulderfreeman in the comments. Good luck to everyone!

Favorite Movie in New York City

I'm not sure why, but when I talk to people outside the United States they think of our country resembling New York City. I have never been to New York City but I have been to many large cities in the US but there are really none like NYC. The city is iconic, so many famous and wealthy people are from there. The media here in the US makes NYC into such a big deal that everyone here looks to it as some kind of masterpiece of modern American culture.

To be fair, I grew up surrounded by trees, grass and fields of corn in the country and I do not feel particularly comfortable in the city. A place like NYC makes me feel uncomfortable with all of the concrete and skyscrapers. The movies tend to romanticize the city but for anyone tha thas been to a big city, the problems like homelessness, drug abuse and garbage make them unappealing at times. Of course, they have the benefits of great jobs and lots of entertainment as well.

For this contest, I would like you to pick a movie that is based in New York City. If you can't find one with that city specifically, pick a movie with a different large city but extra weight will be given to those that use NYC! Give a personal review of the movie and tell me what you think of the role of the city in the film. What do you think of New York City? Have you been there and would you want to visit? What have you heard about the city? Does the movie make you want to visit even more?

Be original and do your best to stay on the topic if you want to win the contest!

If you have any questions or concerns feel free to tag me in the Discord channel (caulderfreeman). Enjoy this week's contest and good luck!
